Sumona's fundraising efforts

Early morning, I woke up to a phone call followed by shocking news - devastating Earthquake has crippled my hometown. The 7.8 magnitude quake has already claimed 8600+ lives, caused massive destruction and wiped out villages and world heritage sites. Nepal is in dire need of any help we can get.  No action is not an option during this terrible tragedy.  So being a photographer, I naturally inclined to raise funds through selling my prints. 100% of the net proceeds will go to the relief of Nepal earthquake victims.  All photos will be printed through a professional lab.

Although afar, I could not stay untouched by the terrible tragedy back home. My family and relatives are safe. They had been spending the night outdoors in open ground despite the pouring rain, due to strong aftershocks. I would like to believe that the worst has passed by but the consequences of such catastrophe is far beyond just the quake; rebuilding and reconstruction will take billions of dollars and several years.

For now, the current focus is to provide immediate relief to the Earthquake victims.  They are in need of medical attention, search & rescue services, basic needs such as clean water, food, clothes, blankets and much more.

So, I am hopeful that you will help make this fundraise a success by purchasing my photograph(s).  I will be transparent with funds so we all know exactly where the money is donated. The print sale will continue till end of May.  I am offering 50% off shipping.  Just type HELPNEPAL at checkout.

Amidst chaos and despair, it has been a blessing to see the world come together as one to help Nepal. Let's all
join hands together and make a difference!  United we can!

$1 = 100 rupees. A little goes a long way. Every dollar counts!
Thank you,
Sumona Balla Malla

My first time fundraising and first time setting up a booth to sell my photos. I loved connecting with people, answer their questions and share information about Nepal.  My friends helped me setup the tent and table.  It was a wonderful experience.

Looking at the photo of Dharahara. How could the so called kathmandu metro Office let dharahara remain unsecured. We already knew that this building would fall. It should have been tethered to ground on all sides. But yet the Karmacharis of kathmandu metro fall asleep every night?
