I'm asking you this because, my Social Security card currently has "Only valid for work with DHS Authorization" (F1 hudaa dekhi ko ho). Yesso bhani dinu paryo, SSN card update garne ki nagarne bhanera. Dhanyawaad!! :)

It will say the same thing if you update or apply the new one. You will be applying for replacement card if you already had SS card.

You've answered your own question. getting EAD is getting authorization so need to apply for new one unless you become a permanent resident or citizen.

Jahbless, I understand EAD in itself is an authorization to work. But is TPS EAD an authorization from DHS? I thought DHS authorizations were something like CPT approval, OPT approval, STEM extension, etc.

Department of Homeland Security controls everything. USCIS is a department that takes care of approvals and denials.
