I am currently in H1 status. My company is willing to sponsor my green card on EB2 category. i need little suggestion on how to proceed with this: My gf is currently in F1 status. I plan on marrying her soon. How should i proceed with this green card process so that it is beneficial for her as well. Should i just wait first for my GC and then apply for her or is there a better alternative?

Not a lawyer..just an experience.. You should go ahead and ask your company to initiate the process. It is a long journey. After the process is initiated, you would get about a year time to get married (since the prevailing wage determination and labor certification takes about a year). You should get married before you file for your adjustment of status (I485), so that it would be easier for you as compared to filing I485 later.... Again, I am not a lawyer and people here in sajha are much more knowledgeable than me in these matters....mero ta just aafno experience matra ho...if you need any other suggestion, please let me know.

You can marry her now or any time before filing i485 to be able to get GC for both of you at similar time. If you marry her after you get your GC, it will take 2 years for her to get GC.

Yes, I agree to ark's comment...may be it might take more than 2 years for your spouse to receive his/her GC if you marry her after you file your 485...
