Police have arrested another owner of Lord of the Drinks (LOD), a night club, Rudil Ballabh Shrestha, today.

Shrestha was arrested from Kupandole in connection with a rape of a 16-year-old girl who had gone to LOD, said Chief of the District Police Range, Senior Superintendent of Police, Siddhi Bikram Shah.

Similarly, another owner Raju Singh Suwal was arrested from Baluwatar on Thursday evening on the same case.

SSP Shah shared that they were arrested for the investigation on the issue of allowing the minor enter in the Club.

The District Police Range, Lalitpur, had taken arrest warrant from the Lalitpur District Court against the two owners of the Club.

Isn't this news old? Like a month or two? It says July 6, 2023, right? Why is this coming up now?

For me, I did not know about this LOD or what it meant by LOD really until all the young generation in Nepal gave me a class on this LOD culture they have so ingrained in their lifestyles lately. I googled and met up with some bad reviews left by some foreigners who tried to venture this place but got their mood dampened by the attitude of people working there.
I did not grow up in this kind of culture when I left Nepal, so going to bars in the night and returning home drunk and wasted in the morning is still a thing that I cannot still reconcile with.
Now a 16 year old sneaking to the bar to get drunk sounds nothing new as drinking culture has just engulfed the current generation so much as if that is the only thing left in life. The unfortunate rape....now what can be said...Sad but scary for innocent girls....who get preyed upon...
