why? well cos the sky is so high and there is no reply. i guess i should reply. If anyone could convince you with sound logic as to why there is no superior power, then many people in the world would be aethists. The thing is people WANT to believe in a higher being because it gives them some sort of assurance that this life is not iT. That there is something else.

I've me a few aethists, and they became so because they were put off by all the ritualistic stuff in religions. Then there are the agnostics, who don't care about anything. i think these guys are plain lazy.

I do not consider myself an atheis.. kind of.. but I do not follow any religion as well.. and I do not believe in god.. then I guess I will be atheist too..

anyways one thing I never understood was changing the religion.. do people think that chaning religions means moving closer to more powerful god.. help on that??

And again.. being born in a Hindu family.. and also not believing in super-power God.. I feel more close to Hindu gods.. Since I do not believe in those powers.. I see no logic in being close to god, who we cannot visualize (may be think of 'tomb'), one whose hands and feets are nailed in the cross.. if I have to be close.. why not to "Lord of ganza, bhaang, and dhatura," who not to "Greatest Flirt ever born (Krishna)".. and let's not talk about Indra.. (roop change gari gari arka ko budi bitaune... ) na sakine cha ni.. hindu dharma.. more drama more color..

I am an atheist. Why? Because I am too logical and intellectually honest to believe in the idea of god.
However, I say that I am culturally hindu, because the hindu culture and the memories of my family are inseparable.

I believe in humanity. Does that make me an atheist? However, different types of religion has always fascinated me. I don't mind reading about Christianity, Buddism or Hinduism. I am not too fanatic about ritualistic stuff, I truly don't believe in sacrifices. ( Scares me)

I guess I categorize myself in the agnostic group. I don't believe in organized religion, but I do believe that some sort of higher power exists. "God" if you'd like to call it. You have to have some faith, its a way of consoling yourself when no one else is around. To all you people saying "my logics go beyond trying to comprehend something as stupid as God", you WILL be finding yourself calling for a higher power when things aren't going your way.

hi there all,

in fact is there a God? Or, not? Whatever it be. We as a human bieng exist in real world that is away from the world that we don't know about.

Are we an atheist, or, not? That is what your belief system tells you. I for one think that that belief systems is much more important than the quintessential question of being atheist or not.

Believe in something and get the faith out of it. And then get what you want out of your immediate life. That is what I believe in.

Yeah, I do believe that there is nothing as such called super power (you are free to use whatever nouns that gives you faith).

Uhi Rajeev,
CT, Amrika
