I think we should think about it in nepal at the moment of un-employment and other economic situations. But, would nepal take this as a good option ??
Is it legal in other south asian countries??

Logical solution, in my view, would be to provide them with proper jobs...don't you think so??..rather than legalizing prostitution...

Even i think thats a 'logical' solution to provide 'proper jobs'. Who dont want to do a proper job??

Looking at the situation now and further 20 years from now, i doubt there will be any 'proper jobs available in Nepal. Yeah, its true if you have a good connections or 'source- force'in nepal you will be able to get a proper jobs.

I dont think there is any immediate solution to this question. Looking at the prospect now, no educated person would be able to get a good job in nepal. So, i realy support the question it is raised above. WE SHOULD legalise it.

What do u guys think??

I do support legalisation , it will enhance the revenue of country as well as seen as a job of its kind, though it is not legal in India but it is legal in Thailand, Netherland......, because it is the need of the hour, it also satisfy some parts of society, nothing wrong with this, In India they cannot give jobs to prostitute thats why they cannot take control over it and as Hindu culture , it cannot be legalised also,

Plus young bloodz in nepal don't have to be afraid of getting caught in one of those massage parlors or cabin restaurants..

I look at it like this.. alcohol is not a good thing for society but still in Nepal it ranks the most in terms of producing revenue.. and it's the human nature to be inclined to do bad things first. . may be out of excitement.. resentment.. or something like that.. so prostitution business will flourish in Nepal.. Added to that fact is that Nepali parents/brothers will not be inclined to sell his daughter/sister in India when there is good business going around in Nepal...

And goverment is not competant enough to provide jobs,.. anyway working getting good sum of salary outside Kathmandu valley is harmful to ones life anyways (due to Maoist).. and Student like me who is planning to go to Chip designing arena.. there are no jobs in Nepal.. if I want to get out of US also.. I will end up in India/China/Singapore/ Australia .. or something close by... The only way I can go back to Nepal is as a rich man.. and then do politics..

i think that blaspheme has raised some good points. however, let's not only consider how much revenue prostitution will generate. let's also consider how rampantly AIDS and HIV related diseases will flourish.

"it also satisfy some parts of society, nothing wrong with this,"

well said!, prostitution is not something that's wrong, and legalizing it shouldnt be a problem either. but, like on every jobs, person doing this job should never be forced and should be doing it willingly. and on the other hand, human trafficking for these kind a reasons should be stopped completly, thats WHAT IS WRONG. i think in some American states prostitution is legal???

but i find it very hard by a nepali society accepting a woman doing her job as a prostitution, even in America, strippers and hookers are looked down upon by some people, and talking about Nepalese people, accepting such woman in a normal society would be a shame, because we have so undeveloped thinking of thinking THEY ARE ALSO HUMAN doing their OWN JOB.

and somewhere above on the post i saw someone saying "PROPER JOB" can you please define to me what is a "Proper job"??? every job has a bad and filthy side, which they try to hide, Prostitution is something that involves with offering one's body, and nothing is hidden in that job, so u consider it a unproper job?? i would consider this job as SOBER-EST JOB one can have.

blackie good point their, we should educate people with these kind of issuses..to prevent such diseases ...

Hi!,

I just wanted to say something about prostitution.

We should not banned prostitution rather we should control it by proper legal and social procedures and never ever should promote it.

If someone, male/female wants to indulge in such activities, we should have proper awareness system to warn them about the consequences. The social need, human nature and justification of every human act are beyond any theories of Pshycology, behaviral sciences and any other sciences. So, I think, a better way is to control it, without promoting it.

Ruck&Maul, u said applying them in a proper job, so i asked you what is a proper job??? can you breif it out for me??

yes, i said sober-est job, i find a prostitute better than a bussiness man trying to rip off a person's wallet and make profit out of his nonsense or a politician who is drowned in a lust of power and sells whole country for his own sake....

so what is a proper job??

Well said....Confused
I am not sure if prostitution should be either legalized or banned.......This is a stage of righteousness.... When looking at a nation overwhelmed by economic discomfort.....prostituion doesn't seem much of a bad idea......But who are the home feeders in Nepal? Man or Woman. When we talk of prostitution it's pretty obvious the involvement of a woman in our discussion, being aware that a man could be the one too.....
If prostitution given the " Go Sign" it will surely bring an adverse effect......If prostitution is made legal......the economic standards of the nation would even deteriorate more........in curing all the victims....i.e people with HIV AIDS....Nepal will not be able to handle this very disaster......
My opinions are very random......

i like confused's take on this issue. prostitution is a sober job in comparison to unethical business, legal, political, or medical practices. one more thing: everyone is born free, so why put restrictions as to what kinds of profession we want to pursue? we just need to be aware of the consequences and avoid hurting other people, that's all.
