This kid has much more to be proud of than a in Bollywood movie star who shares his name.

This 17-yr old has received a lot of attention and praise due to his sheer talent and capacity at this tender age and is touted to be a gold medalist in the next olympic (that is if he stays amatuer). Saw his recent fight with 3-time olympic champion who was twice his age and this kid led in the first round, though, in the end, he lost with a respectable score.

Man, I wish this kid was a Nepali. I would have been proud of him.

And btw, he is not "boxer" amir khan. He is simply amir khan. The movie star may be called "movie star" amir khan so taht you guys dont get mixed up.

What happened to the nepali boxer from Atlanta?
He was making big news. Wasn't he nicknamed "Himalayan Tiger?"

I also watched his final bouts. He is an aggresive fighter but lacks full knowledge of boxing. Hoepfully he will mature as he is only 17. His Cuban counterpart Mario Kindelan had every answer the kid threw at him. Amir got long way to go if he were to enter professional career. Picture him fighting with Eric Morales or Floyd Mayweather or Jesus Chavez (in 135 lbs) in pro bout.

But why are we talking about him instead the gold medalist Cuban, is it coz his parents were from our neighboring country Pakistan??? I am lost....

Hurray, I think you are talking about Devind "The Nepal Tiger". Go and Support him. He will be fighting Juan Carlos Jacobo at Tropicana casino in Atlantic City, NJ on sept 10th. I think they will televise the game on ESPN 2.
