There was one last Saturday, October 16th, hosted by the NY Kala Manch. Was a wonderful gathering; nice performances by Sanu Sherpa and Saranga Shrestha and some others. I guess the reason it wasn't advertised was because they were doing this in Dhaka Club - a small place if more that 400 come. And there was a crowd of about 500 and it was crowded, it was hot, all drinks were gone by 1 a.m. and, most importantly, it was FUN. Sorry you missed it - but, if this is any solace, someone told me that they may move their Dashain party across the river next year to Manhattan - at the big hall on 2nd avenue. They better advertise for that event as you may know, with 500 people, they won't even break even. Happy Dashain all!
