1. Stop complaining. Close your eyes and ask your self, ?Am I Part of the solution or am I the part of the Problem.

2. Leave, you leaving the valley will mean less waste and more and more water for others.

3. Do not blame the mayor or ministers. Just make sure that you never vote for him/her again in to any public office.

4. Take a morning wake each day to a temple to pray for the Kathmandu and also to buy fresh vegetables (make sure there are insects to discourage pesticide use). This will also encourage traditional farmers to continue vegetable production rather than selling off land to industrialists.

5. Never use, buy, sell or even think about plastic bags.

6. Always leave outside packing and wrappers in the shop e.g. buy the tube and leave behind the toothpaste box.

7. When you buying households goods, buy those things that last long time, are locally repairable, are made by local craftsmen and are renewable in the sense that a new piece can be made locally e.g. brass, bronze, silver and copper pots and pans.

8. Encourage the use of local cloth and straw slippers. straw mates, leaf plates for that require their disposal.

9. Before building a house take a walk through Bhaktapur to decide how you want to maintain the traditional facade.
