What kingdoms in this twenty first century around the world have survived with respects and supports from their fellow county men? Obviously for a kingdom to survive with its institution and receive supports and respects from its citizens it must follow the course of those kingdoms which do not only deserve respects from their county men but also from people around the world.

Let us not forget how Nepal was ruled during Rana autocracy and then after one party system ?Panchayat? under the absolute monarchy ? no education or poor education given to its subjects; prevented industrial development or controlled industrialization; suppressed opportunity or nepotism and partiality; thorough and open discrimination in the name of the tradition that insists in caste system. Government institutions, particularly administration, police and army, were built to suppress the fundamental rights of people. Nepal had neither before during those dictatorships nor until February 1, 2005 any external threat to confront for any security forces.

It was the king Tribhuvan who had the courage to fight for the freedom with his fellow citizens and brought the democracy first in the Nepalese history. However, that did not survive long due to the underlying current of dictatorial governance. His own son banned the multiparty system and introduced one party system by making himself absolute king.

King Birendar was the second king who saw the importance of the fundamental rights of people in Nepalese history. He saw not only for the freedom of speech and political rights for governance but also for the freedom and opportunity for all Nepalese citizens so that they can acquire good education and skills to be the productive human resources of the world?s global economy. Perhaps he had the dream of those respectful kingdoms of the world where he acquired his academic education.

I have not seen other Nepalese head of the states or statesmen who see how important is the human resources that cannot grow in any society without the fundamental rights of people. For any kingdom at this time to survive with honest respects and supports of its citizen it must see the importance of the fundamental rights of its people and let it rule without any interference what so ever. Otherwise, it can try to rule its people under the fear of tyranny as an absolute king. However, scenario for the absolute king unlike cold war time has become far difficult unless the county has the power of wealth like in Saudi Arabia or Borneo.

The action of the king of Nepal on February 1, 2005 has the influence of underlying current of Nepalese tradition of governance that goes back to Rana and Panchayat dictatorships. There are many high ranking civil servants, policemen and army who think in old dictatorial fashion of governance. Many of them cannot even stand before democratic process. For them political arguments, journalistic inquiries and demonstrations are kind of disturbing nonsense.

The success and failure of the action of the king will depend on how honest is he in his commitment for multiparty system of democracy and how important he sees the need of fundamental rights of people of Nepal. It is the time for human rights! None how democratic or despotic he or she is cannot breach the human rights of people of any county neither in the name of god or religion nor in the pretension of his or her national security and interest. It is the obvious and natural course of human evolution to stand for his or her rights. It is primitive to be an absolute king at this time and point, especially in a poorest of the poor countries.

If February 1, 2005 decision of the king deserves respect from me he will have to fulfill his commitments for the multiparty democracy and accomplishes all that he has promised in his proclamation. Then after he trusts people of Nepal to be ruled by themselves under the rule of law through multiparty democratic process. Therefore he remains inactive like the statue as of all 21st centuries' kings - UK, Japan, Sweden, Denmark, etc.

Otherwise do not ask me to support the king and his February 1, 2005's proclamation.
India, UK, USA, Japan and European Union with democratic will and moral stand for the democratic rights of people of Nepal. Similarly the economic supports will also be affected drastically. UN sanctions will be imposed if human rights violations such as mass disappearing and mass killings are committed. Do not take this light as supporters of the king - satellites are watching for mass grave and mass killings.
God bless the fundamental rights of people of Nepal!!!
