There has been a protest rally in DC supporting the King. And some thoughts are invading my otherwise empty head.
Those who have some cash in accounts and some asset somewhere, they'll probably think that if there is peace in the country they may go back and retire. They can also send a hefty amount of money back home to their relatives to ease up their life a little bit. It is a well-known fact that even if you are working as a simple worker in the USA, your saving is likely multiplied by 70 when taken home to Nepal. This provides a big down payment for buying properties in Nepal. And of course a well-to-life style for future. Now all the DC supporters of the royal coup in Nepal, this is very likely a true story.
Some may say I'm incorrect siting some personal problems here and there, and I cannot avoid some exceptions in my postulate.
I also expect some more rallies in Tokyo, Bonn, Geneva, Paris, London by pro-King Nepalese. Of course, these demonstrations will include most educated spectrum of our Nepal outside the country.
What about the anti-coup demonstration? There has been some in DC, I believe. Let us go to India. How many of the participators were royalists? I guess a few scores at best. Why the difference?
My theory is it is almost as hard to earn money in India as in Nepal. There is a tough competition in India.. the sheer size of the Indians will totally eclipse that of Nepalese there. And I can say for sure their earnings in India is miniscule compared to that of our Western compatriots. Is this that our compatriots in India do not feel their life in Nepal secured that they want more from Nepal and hence the leaders?

My question is why the compatriots in DC feel their future so secured? I personally do not feel so secured. For one thing, I do not personally think the King has the ability to steer the country to some safe harbor. I pretty much depend upon what the King has done before he became the King. What about the background? the track records? I might be blind but what I've seen is an "Andhadhunda", ad hoc steps everywhere since Feb 01. There is only one winner in this coup .. the RNA. How can the victory of the losing RNA produce peace in Nepal?

I gotta go ...
