PG, I'm in Mpls. Just looked outside, nice great puffy (fluffy?) snow, about 8-10 inches in the forecast.

Palpali... painting...like the side of a barn or.. on a canvas? You spoke of the weather and painting in the same breath, so was wondering.

painting....mixed media works on paper actually. watercolors with a bit of collage and graphite drawing as well. i'd probably make a lot more money painting the side of a barn, but don't think the owners of the barn would be happy with my e-style.....

PG, Any of your works in display? I would love to see some.

Have you ever tried tissue art with water colors? Incredible results; although it is tedious!

PG,
Are u being interviewed for a position in MPLS or is it just the interview taking place here and the job being somewhere else? In anycase, yes dreamz is right, its a city neither too big nor too small, with pretty much everything including all pro sports team, a lot lakes, a lot camp sites, biggest mall (is it?), casinos etc. I guess we have pretty much that Chicago has (except for multiple baseball teams). Anything particular u are looking for in your new to be city?

The only drawback might be the winter if you are not very used to it. Winter is usually pretty long, chilly hawa starting in october and doesn't go away until may, with Feb and march being the snowiest months.

Sitara,
You know they say there are only two seasons in minnesota: Summer and winter.....

Congratulations on your shows!
Palpali, Thanks a lot! I love the composition: is it 3 D... or the illusion is so perfect, one can almost see the flickering haze. Do you use a lot of geometric images, or is it only for this one? I know, I know, too many questions!

Thanks again... when your website is up, pls give us the link!

Oh, as for the Nepali community, I would say its somewhere between 700-1000 throughout Minnesota, and yes, its a lively group of people here.
There are two Nepali restaurants, the third one closed down !!!!

Well, I tried netflix for a while. When I subscribed to netflix, the price was a bit higher--about 19.99 if I am correct. Then they increased it a bit and I believe it went to 21.99. Now, it seems that the price has gone down drastically due to competition from other competitors like Blockbuster and Qwikflix joining the fray. Qwikflix also has a nice selection of mature and adult DVD's if anybody here is interested.
Netflix was a waste of money for me, as I was very busy back in the days. it's a monthly plan. If you watch one movie a month, it's a waste of dinero.

wow- thanks for all the input regarding mn! i'm inteviewing for a job that is about 20 minutes from downtown minneapolis. winter is not my favorite season, but it's quite brutal where i am too....i hate shopping malls and don't gamble, but as long as there are a few great art museums and good cd stores, i'll be fine! what are the two restaurants?! i thought there was only one called everest or something in st paul.

thanks for the compliments, sitara. nope, it's just mixed media on paper. mostly watercolors and, like i said, some collage and graphite drawing. i do tend to use geometric shapes quite a bit, but superimposed upon a more fluid background. ahhh- all of this art psycho babble is coming out of me! i must stop....i was actually hoping to have the website up by the end of this month, but alas, mero sathi has been busy and i am a moron when it comes to technology....i'm just proud of myself for learning how to post images here!

Sitara- Netflix Rocks. You should definitely go for it. Have you been to the Modigliani art exhibit yet. You should check it out. Its at Philips Collection, DC. I am attaching a pic. of his work.
Palpali- Nice painting. I heard a lot of good things about MPLS (except harsh winter). Good luck with the interview.
Test Director- You seem to be a very organized person. Nice description of your routine for the weekend. I guess being a dad and husband has a lot more reponsibilities than bunch of college kids or single person heading to happy hour or to a club. Enjoy your weekend.
