Hi,
I am here in US in a student Visa and go to a grad school. I have a valid visa and wanna go to singapore for about a week. Well, the questions I have are ,

1. The name of the school in my Visa is different that the one I am going to ( I completed by previous school). Will it be a problem while trying to come back to the US ?

2. Although I am on a student visa , I applied for polytical asylum about 18 months ago which was denied. I did not do any follow up with it and concetrated with my studies. now, the fact which is worrying me is , at the port of entry in US , will they deny me entry just because I had applied for asylum?

your opinions in this matter will be highly appriciated.

thankx and a very happy new year to all you guys

As long as you go to the School with full hours as recomanded even you changed your school. You need to get new I-20 from new school, get endorsment from International adviser.
As long as you have your valid Student Visa, valid I-20, I-94 and above mentioned things, you can go out of country.

I would first check with the american embassy in Nepal about it. You can send them e-mail and they usually reply back.
What might be a bother is the name of the school onyour visa. I am not sure if they will ask you to apply for another F1 visa in the country you are visiting (in this case, singapore) with your current school's name on it.

Chandani Malla,
Did you hire a lawyer when u file political Asylum. If you did your best bet is to get back with your pawyer coz If you are denied for asylum and you did not follow up this might be a serioous case. You also can contact the US Embassy , they might be able to help you. If I was you I won't leave teh country..

Good Luck
