Saw this Nepali couple in Wangdi, east of Thimph, Bhutan. The lady is wearing a 'bulaki' - a giveaway that she's a Bhutanese of Nepali origin.

If you ever go to Paro, Bhutan, be sure to drop in at Lham Restaurant near the Paro Dzong Bridge. The lady at the counter is another Bhutanese of Nepali origin. A Pradhan lady. She's the proud owner of the restaurant.

The afore-pictured Pradhan Lady's daughter. The guy in the pic is Birkha Gurung, who apparently works in the same restaurant.

I like Bhutan very much though I have been there for a week. Most of the people speak Nepali and pool is quite famious among young people. Coupple of bottles of beer at pool house and to disco.....wow!!! Ups and down, hilly area......like Nepal. People seems freek and helpful. Wari jamuna, pari jamuna was hit when I was there. I asked one of my office staff about marriage and replied that he has never seen arrange marriage and he put question back to me saying how does it possible to marry a guy/girl whom you don't know? Courier whisky and durkha (churpi) were the items I bought from there. Really a nice place to be once......probably the most liked place away from home country for me.

Rayann: Yeah I do have hills, and rivers too! But frankly I find the Nepali diaspora of Bhutan, North-East India and Myanmar more interesting. I also have hills and rivers and dzongs. Sursab: You know that stretch of road (near the Paro Dzong bridge) with chhortens running through the middle of the road with thick trees on either side.... yeah that's the approximate location of the restaurant. You are right that Lham is on the way to the airport - on the right side of the right lane [as you go toward the airport from Paro town]. Someone told me the Druk Air office is also somewhere around there.
