As Dashain and Tihar get closer and as we realise we are so far from home, the urge to hangout with other nepalis and eat dal, bhat, tarkari, achar, masu and momo gets stronger. Following the tradition of the past four years, the Nepalis at Bryn Mawr, Haverford and Swarthmore are
organizing a Dashain-Tihar gathering on the 15th of October, 2005.

Please write to bacharya@haveford.edu to let us know that you can make it so that we will get a tentative headcount. And do forward this to any college-going, fun-loving Nepali in the US.

Looking forward to seeing you there. Directions and "plan" for the weekend follows.

-Bibhav (bacharya@haverford.edu)
==========

Date: October 9, 2004 (Saturday)

Location: Swarthmore College, Swarthmore, PA. (11 miles outside Philadelphia)

Transportation:
a. Public transportation - Greyhound has connections to Philadelphia from most big cities. Right across the street from the Greyhound station in Philadelphia is a SEPTA train station which will bring you to Swarthmore. You will have to take the R3 train going to Media/Elwyn and get off at the Swarthmore Station; the ride takes about 20 minutes and costs $3.75 each way. You can get detailed schedules at greyhound.com and septa.com. Let us know when you're arriving so one of us can pick you up at the station.
b. Car - Swarthmore is located a couple of miles off of I-95 South of Philadelphia. You can get detailed directions at mapquest.com. Our address is 500 College Avenue, Swarthmore, PA 19081.

Evening:
We have planned a cook-out dinner. We have reserved a big dorm kitchen that we used for the last two years' gathering. After dinner, we will watch movies, make momo, listen to the rhythms, play Deusi, and of course dance.

Dinner:
This is going to be the biggest thing of the day. If you can help us cook, that would be great. Or else, don't blame us if the food is bad! Anyway, if you can, we would appreciate if you could come a bit earlier and help us cook.

Accomodation:
We have arranged accommodation at the college if people want to stay overnight.

Sunday morning:
We will cook lunch, continue having fun and disperse by the afternoon, or earlier if people want to.

Money: You will be responsible only for your transportation to and from Swarthmore. We will split the cost of alcohol between those who will be drinking. Last year, we collected $5/person. The rest is on us. We will be
delighted to have you as guests!

Please forward this invitation to any college-going, fun-loving Nepali in United States.
