Indian foreign secretary visits Kalapani
Indian foreign secretary Shyam Saran Thursday conducted an aerial inspection of the trijunction of the Nepal, India and China border in Darchula.
He also inspected the disputed territory of Kalapani Gunji adjoining Tibet's Lipudhura.
He was briefed on border security by security forces and intelligence officials deputed on the border, according to Indian daily newspaper Jhagaran.
He alighted from a helicopter at Gunji and visited a military camp at Darchula on the border.
He held discussions with military officials.
He acquired information of Maoist activities.
The newspaper reported he instructed high security on the border during discussions with military officials.
