On Nepal: India's double standard

Nobody does not know that the India declared terrorists and red corner notice issued on Maoists are freely moving around the Indian capital New Delhi under the protection of the Indian intelligence. The Maoists held a roundtable meeting with the leaders of the agitating Nepalese political parties in New Delhi last week under the guidance of the Indian intelligence.

That India hosted the agitating parties of Nepal and also terrorists in her capital city is not only an unfortunate incident, but also an act that clearly smacks of supporting the terrorists. Also, by holding talks with the Maoists, the leaders of the political parties have committed an illegal act. If the general people is found meeting with the Maoists, they become eligible for punishment or arrest by the security forces. But the same crime has been made by those "people's representatives". Aren't they liable for punishment for their illegal act?

Be that as it may, clearly, India has violated the international norms against terrorists and performed double standard against the Dhaka Declaration of the 13th SAARC Summit.

SAY NO TO CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY!
The issue of holding constituent assembly polls is not a new one. In the past too, the then king Tribhuwana had wished to hold a constituent assembly polls. Later when he realized that this design would only serve India, he dropped this idea. If we go for the constituent assembly polls, there will be a heavy influence of Indians, as our border with India is open and there is free flow of the citizens of both the countries. Not only that, our people's representatives are so greedy that even if they get study scholarship from India for their kids, they will be ready to do everything for the interests of India. And if India distributes ten million rupees each for the elected representatives of the constituent assembly, they will be even ready to hand over the country's sovereignty to India. Late Tanka Prasad Acharya, the then prime minister of Nepal, was well-aware about this Indian plan and the idea of going for the constituent assembly polls was dropped during that time. Time has changed now but the mentality of our "people's representatives" has not changed. They are even ready to sell themselves if they get reasonable price.

The "people's representatives" are always silent on issues such as border encroachment, one sided construction of dam inundating Nepalese soil in terai, land occupation in Susta, among others. Besides, the "people's representatives" were ready to deceive their people by rectifying a citizenship law amendment bill disguised as a "finance bill" from parliament. The entire parliament members were involved in this bill. This attempt was made just to please their Indian bosses.

Unless we regulate our international borders and stop the free flow of the citizens from the free border, unless we discard those "people's representatives", who actually are slaves of India, we cannot think about going for a constituent assembly polls.

We have not forgotten how one-sided referendum was conducted and how people were forced to cast their vote for India prior to annexation of Sikkim by India. Therefore, we say no to constituent assembly even if those Indian stooges are playing with this game.

TROUBLE MAKING RAW OFFICIAL IN KATHMANDU

Suresh Dhandalia, a new diplomat, has succeeded Madan Pyasi, Minister, Indian Embassy. Pyasi was also known as the RAW chief stationed here, according to diplomatic sources.

Dhandalia was stationed here ten years ago, sources say. He is known as a trouble maker, it is said and he has been stationed here at such a time when the country is facing very crucial conditions.

In such a crucial period, how much trouble will Dhandalia add to this country, it has to be seen in days to come!

India's vast economic interest in Nepal makes Nepal vulnerable to its power play and its policy towards Nepal is very disturbing. India discriminates not just Nepal but all its neighbors as well.
