Hi Sajha Basi I am in a problem and I need your help. I wanted to know if the universities can track your past educational records from your SEVIS Number or your Social Security Number. My problem is I studied in one university for two semester but I could not perform good there so I transferred from there. Now I am in a different university and doing good. I want to join a third university for next level of study but I do no want to show my previous records. Can anyone tell me if the university people ( admission office and international office) will find out I have not included it?? GAMLE

I mean SEVIS Number or you may say SEVIS I.D. This number is assigned in your I-20.

you can transfer your credits from all your previous schools, but your gpa doesn't get transfered. gpa starts at 'zeo' when you start a school. all other credits in the past with more than 'c' (in some cases) and 'd' gets transfered as 'p' for pass. so, don't worry. you didn't do bad at previous school, you either passed or failed. but, don't fool the school by not giving your previous records. they have all sorts of tools and resources to find your lies. just don't lie to begin with.

As long as your second school transcript does not show your first school grades, you should be clean for your third school transfer..

Thanks Sujanks and Fountaindew Fountaindew you seem to know about this. I have not trasnfered my credits so it will not be seen in my current school transcript. But my problem is can the third school track that I attended a school before this one with the help of SEVIS or SSN. The thing is if the third school knows about my grade at first I am afraid I may not get admission.

Two semesters are nothing. You can make up excuses if you know wha ti'm talking about. It would've been problem if you did poorly for 5 or 6 semesters. how about your cum gpa. does anyone know if the cum gpa considers all the grades received from other schools of just from the last school?

First of all I don't think I-20 has anything to do with the admission decision. In fact I-20 is issued only after you qualify for admission. The only thing I-20 is used for is to determine whether you have been in status or not. So just relax and show them all your good grades and forget about the bad ones. Although they say grades from all past schools required, you can get away with that.
