There has been a lot of buzz about Toronto girls around here, and sadly all is superficial. In fact, any discussion regarding girls in this message board seems to be about who's hot and who's not. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's only natural, but of course, girls don't limit themselves to these superficial expectations. Shabda Magazine should be an example; it was spearheaded by three females residing in Toronto and it will be published and distributed to mainstream communities starting January 14th. "The goal of the magazine is to provide a creative platform for youth, particularly Nepalese youth, to encourage critical exploration of political, philosophical, psychological, social and literary topics. In the current climate where media is stringently censored in Nepal, diasporic media, such as Shabda magazine, produced by Nepalese residing abroad, has come to be the only free medium of expression for Nepalese currently. Additionally, Shabda’s articles embody vital articulations of the small but growing Nepalese immigrant community of Canada. Furthermore, Shabda’s distribution strategy is aimed not at operating from the margins in insular ways but rather at connecting the Nepalese-Canadian voices with the mainstream Canadian community. The Shabda magazine will be distributed in public libraries, schools and community centres. Also, in the distribution of this magazine and in future publications, the organizers will continue to connect with other immigrant youth groups of Canada."

My best wishes for Shabda and its team. It is indeed a terrific move.

I even visited their website.
But nowhere I could find out if it is nepali-based magazine or just another English one.
