Dear all,
Former Prime Minister of Nepal, Ser Bahadur Deuba is heading to the USA to "destabilize" the 12 point political agreement between the seven political parties and the Maoists, thereby to legitimate or prolong the royal dictatorship in Nepal. Deuba will leave from Nepal on Monday, 2oth of March, and is scheduled for a talk program at Towson on 26 March 2006.
Can any Nepali organization/individuals based in the USA announce/arrange public boycott of Deuba's upcoming meeting in the USA?
I would like to request all freedom loving media, as well, to boycott or oppose the news of so-called Deuba meeting. Others may forward this appeal to their list.
It is now time to react; Deuba, a baseless politician, cannot blind the Nepalis of the 21st century. I'm sending this appeal to you as a Nepali citizen, fighting for establishing democracy, freedom of speech, and civic and human rights for the 2.6 million Nepalis.
The followings are the reasons why Deuba's meeting in the USA should be boycott:
- It's obvious that Deuba is heading to the USA to defame the 12 point agreement between the seven political parties and the Maoist, which is only hope of the Nepalis to create peace and establish Loktantrik Ganatantra (Democratic Republic). Deuba is playing this game under the hint of Gyanendra and the USA.
- Deuba became a puppet of Gyanendra and declared a state of emergency in November 2001, by which the freedom of press and civic rights were mutilated for the first time after the 1990's democracy.
- Deuba split the country's one of the largest democratic political parties, Nepali Congress, and dissolved the parliament under the guidance of Gyanendra.
- Then, it's again Deuba, who deliberately dissolved the local elected institutions for no reasons. Deauba's all these step by step anti-democratic conducts was designed to pave the way for Gyanendra to become an 18th century despot in February 2005.
- Now Deuba is trying to legitimize or prolong the dictatorship of Gyanendra, who rather considers himself as an incarnation of the Hindu God Vishnu.
- Deuba's counter against the 12 point agreement between the seven parties and the Maoist should be taken as his individual case, as it was signed by his party/split Nepali Congress (Democratic) too.
- While the people of Kathmandu were dying for drinking water, Deuba was taking bribes out of the Melamchi drinking water project, when he was Prime Minister.
- Deuba's wife Arju Deuba is a notorious for trafficking refugee/illegal immigrant from Nepal to the USA by charging RS 1 million per head. Ms Deuba is a criminal rather than "only corrupt". She would have been kept behind the bars several years ago if she were a common citizen.
