Zombie Ravers Slaughtered By Seattle Spree Killer

Six psychedelic trance fans were shot to death in Seattle last weekend,
when 28-year-old Kyle Huff went berserk and began shooting up an
after-party the revellers were attending.

The reportedly 'quiet and humble' killer met his victims at a 'zombie
rave', 'Better off Undead' themed party earlier in the evening, then
accompanied them to an after-party which he left just after 7am,
apparently without incident. He then collected a semi-automatic pistol, shotgun
and bandoliers of ammunition from his car; spray painted 'Now' on
nearby porches, and returned to the house and started shooting. As teenagers
fled through every exit he killed six revellers inside the house before
turning one of his guns on himself when a cop arrived.

"This was a premeditated act, this was someone who at some point
decided he was going to kill a lot of people," said Seattle Mayor Greg
Nickels, "We don't know why he picked these particular victims. We do know
that this incident was not caused by music, a particular type of music."

The killings came just under seven years after Eric Harris and Dylan
Klebold went on a similar shooting rampage in Columbine High School,
murdering 12 fellow students and one teacher before also committing
suicide. Writing about serial killers in the States in 1996, Cambridge
University researcher Edward Mitchell analysed data on killings in the US and
noted the recent explosion in random killings.

"Between 1977 and 1984, the number of U.S. homicides with "no apparent
motive" increased by 270% against a rise in all murders of only 12%
(Egger,
1984)," he said, ""Hickey (1991) reports that incidents of serial
murder have increased 10-fold in the last two decades compared to the
previous two."



Killer Bees Spare Miami 2006

Florida's killer bees conspicuously avoided attacking this year's
Winter Music Conference, sparing delegates including Chris Fortier, Danny
Howells and Princess Superstar though jellyfish victim Dave Piccioni was
less fortunate.

The Azuli man, who became seriously ill after being stung by jellyfish
in Ibiza last summer, wisely avoided swimming in the Atlantic though
told Skrufff he'd been alarmed by dangerous creatures in his swimming

laminates either," he added, "but my eyes were crossed for most days."

Danny Howells told Skrufff he spent the bulk of the conference laid up
in bed feeling ill though said when he did venture out he made a big

that pretty much eclipsed everything else I saw this year," Danny boasted,
"I also spotted Lee Burridge sporting a rather healthy head of hair at
the 80s party too. I had a great time there although there was a huge
commotion when somebody dropped Bon Jovi; not me I hasten to add'," he
said.

Princess Superstar, however, was uncharacteristically subdued, telling
Skrufff, 'Arrggghhhh'.

"Miami was so crap this year I barely have anything funny to add," she
added.

America's Gulag Drives Black AIDS Epidemic

A new report examining the explosion in HIV infection in black women
and men in the States has discovered that the massive increases are
closely correlated with the vast numbers of black men being jailed compared
to whites.

University of California researchers Rucker Johnson and Steven Raphael
examined a federal database of 850,000 people who contracted HIV
between 1982 and 1996 which has seen the proportion of Afro-Americans rising
from less than 25% of infections in 1982 to over 50% in 1996. They then
compared prison statistics (including the fact that 1 in 12 black men
is now in jail compared to 1 in 100 whites) and concluded that AIDS
infection rate discrepancies in races are almost entirely due to the prison
system.

"So powerful is the relationship between race, prison and 'HIV/" AIDS,"
the Washington Post reported, "that it almost completely explains why
half of all new AIDS patients in 2002 were 'blacks" even though only 12%
of the population is black."

The story appeared as Cincinnati authorities approved new laws
introducing 30 day jail terms for anyone caught with a single marijuana joint,
with just one local politician Vice Mayor Jim Tarbell voting against
the plan.

"This will not change anything appreciably," Mr Tarbell told the
Cincinnati Enquirer. "This is a class issue. The people caught and
prosecuted will be low-income African-Americans. I think this sends the wrong
message to police."

Mr Tarbell's comments reflected the stance taken by civil rights group
Human Rights Watch who in 2003 singled out the war on drugs as' the
single greatest force' behind the twelve fold increase in America's prison
population since 1980.

"Even more troubling than the absolute number of persons in jail or
prison is the extent to which those men and women are African-American,"
HRW added,

"Although blacks account for only 12 percent of the U.S. population, 44
percent of all prisoners in the United States are black."

US Targets Weapons Of Fat Destruction

America authorities launched a war on obesity this week, suggesting
that fat people could soon pose a greater threat than Osama Bin Laden

"Obesity is the internal terror," US surgeon general Richard Carmona
warned, "Unless we act, the magnitude of the problem will exceed that of
September 11 or of any other terrorist attempt." (Le Figaro, France)

The scale of the international threat was illustrated in Australia this
week where public standards chief Colin Blair (no relation to Tony)
revealed that officials are to urgently examine whether the current 45kg
load-bearing capacity of toilet seats will soon have to be increased. Mr
Blair said they'll be reconsidering 'rigidity loads' and latest weight
statistics, just over a year after a study by the Australian Institute
of Health and Welfare and the Heart Foundation revealed that obesity
has doubled since 1993.

"It is the postcard image of Australia and perhaps one of the country's
most enduring self-deceptions - a young, fit, bronzed surfer soaking up
the sun," the Guardian reported last January.

"The crushing reality, however, is that the average Australian male is
more likely to be a flabby couch potato, with two out of three
Australian men now considered to be overweight or obese."

Meanwhile in the UK, the Sun revealed that seats at Britain's new
national stadium Wembley are to be 20% wider at 50cm while UK office supply
company Senator also said British bums are increasing in girth so much
so that they've commissioned a major redesign of all their office
chairs.

"The average body is changing," Senator boss Colin Mustoe told the
Independent, "We've noticed that through our research, over the past ten
years certainly, but within the past five years most dramatically."

The British reports made no reference to gender comparisons which could
be linked to a report last year that obesity epidemic means women are

"We are going to have slightly more masculine-looking women in future,"

ABBA Against Anti Gay Polish Politicians

70s disco pop sensations Abba have collaborated together for the first
time in 10 years, by signing memorabilia together to be auctioned in
support of Warsaw's Gay Pride Festival which was banned last year by
Warsaw's then mayor Lech Kaczynski.

Mr Kaczynski (now Poland's Prime Minister) justified the ban on the
grounds that gays are 'not a natural part of Poland's culture', then
authorised a 'normality parade' one week later which gay rights campaigners
said boosted homophobic violence (including the shooting days later of
two people outside a gay venue in Katowice).

"The marching of openly fascist skinheads throughout the streets of
Warsaw, preaching hate against vulnerable minorities and tolerated – if
not supported – by government officials has not been seen in Europe since
the dark days of the 1930s," Rosanna Flamer-Caldera from the
International Lesbian and Gay Association complained, in an open letter to the
Polish PM and EU leaders.

"Who would have thought we would see ourselves again the target of
fascists with no protection from a so-called modern European Government in
2005?" she continued, "It is a disgrace and threat to the values of
peace and tolerance that European society has strived to create over the
last 60 years," she added.

Abba had previously resisted all opportunities to reunite and their
involvement should bring significant added pressure on Polish authorities.
Always massively popular on the gay scene and general public, the band
were also admired by the Sex Pistols, who admitted in the early 90s
that one of their seminal punk anthems Pretty Vacant was directly inspired
by Abba's disco anthem SOS.

Goa Cops Deport Unwelcome Travellers

Authorities in Goa stepped up their campaign against its long
established international backpacker, psy-trance community this week formally
announcing that they can deport any foreigner they like without reason,
under the 1946 Foreigners Act.

The State Government issued their declaration during the deportation
proceedings of 60-something long term German resident Ingo Grill and his
Canadian wife Maria Brotherton, who together created and ran the arts
and crafts flea-market the Saturday Night Bazaar, long one of Goa's key

authorities have started colluding with Goa police about drugs, which could
have startling implications for misbehaving tourists, judging by the
experiences of Australians busted in Indonesia recently, following
co-operation between Indonesian and Australian cops.

London born clubber Myuran Sukumaran, 24, and Andrew Chan face imminent
execution by firing squad after being found guilty in February of being
ringleaders of the so-called Bali 9 group of heroin smuggling mules,
who were caught when Australian Federal Police (AFP) tipped off cops in
Bali.

"If these Australians are put before a firing squad, it will be because
the AFP helped to put them there. It is not appropriate for Australian
taxpayers' money to be used to put people in front of firing squads,"
