Okay Im having problem playing this IFO file..its a video file.. Im not sure but how do you play it? I tried playing with umm real player or media player but it wont work "you need to download new software for this".. I dont get it.. is there a different kind of program that plays the IFO files or somehting?

you need to down load this software WinRAR. you can download from the free web as http://www.download.com/WinRAR/3000-2250_4-10446177.html?tag=pdp_prod

once you download and instal WinRar go to the iso file you have downloaded. Right click on the file and extract to wmv file. Then you can play either window media or real player or any.

I think Win RAR ans IFO files are different. You may need to buy software from cnet or others in order to extract IFO files to MPEG or AVG files

how about winDVD? Im downloading a trial version on that.. seems like you have to pay money for it.

.VOB files are playable. I am not sure whether .IFO files can be played.

O would that play an IFO file? and is it free?? cause i downloaded this winDVD 7.. and im on 14 days trail version and it costs US 50 bucks and I dont even knoe where to get it so yeah.. if that VLC player is free and plays IFO file, thatd be great and one thing.. how do you burn a dvd on computer? like put the DVD in and how can you download the files on the computer and then i will need to burn it in a blank CD again.

It plays most of the media. and to burn DVD on a computer, you need to have a DVD burner. if you don't have a DVD burner, and you bought a DVD discs, your money wasted. CD-R that you burn music with don't burn DVD movies or files. you need a DVD-RW.


but on the other hand seems like youre asking how do you rip. burn and rip aren't same. burn is to put data in CD and rip is to extract the contents of cd. you need a DVD ripper to rip the DVD files from DISC. find it anywhere, but they're not free. you can easily google one or go to - www.download.com and download after a simple search. make sure you search for DVD ripper, not dvd burner!

you mean you need to copy the files from DVD to your computer! then burn it in a CD.

yes, you need a DVD ripper, and they're not free! and even if you found a DVD ripper, and ripped (copied) the components of DISC to Computer, you need a DVD burner to Burn DVD into a DVD CD.

and can you name some dvd rippers so that ill know where to get and dvd burner, is that nero, is it work for that?

DVD rippers, you can find many kind, just google it.
DVD burner is not nero. Nero is to burn data in CD DISCS, not DVD DISCS.
To burn DVD, you need the hardware and software. Hardware being the drive you can put your DVD into, just like your CD-RW drive. your software is not going to burn dvd, just because you put DVD in CD drive. Look at your computer properties by (right clicking "my computer" / Hardware tab/ device manager and look under optical drives. if it says DVD-RW then you can burn DVDs, if it says CD-RW/DVD-ROM then you can't.
