Hmm,

SPA asked for democracy, huh? oops, I think they asked for interim government and King gave them a chance, so i urge SPA to think before what you ask for, it might come true, but be sure to take what you get.

25th April, we are all looking for, Media are saying this will be a deciding day in the future of Nepal, all SPA leaders coming to the street, finally after 3 weeks, finally after 15 deaths and 5000 injuries, good luck SPA leaders, hope you will again get what you ask for, but tomorrow might be a horrible day for Nepalese, or might be a Celebration day.

But, what are the chances of Wining or Loosing.

1. KG's proclamation is welcomed by all international community, including, UN, US, UK, Cananda, India et al.. i think there is a fat chace of MILITARY RULE to be imposed from tomorrow,

2. King will allow the peace rally under SPA leaders and the leaders will compromise (SAMJAUTA) with King in later days.

Again, just my personel aspect, comments are welcome, and i am not here to argue.

Jai Nepal, Long Live Democracy.

DcKeta:

SPA are not fighting for us....they re fighting for themselves, their families, and their luxury. And we all know what Maoists are made of...recent attack on Chautara says all about them we need to know. Just worries me that we might see a mass death because of hunger, thirt, no hospital care...sick people have no where to go....terrible..terrible situation....and the mob is out of control......

I had posted this in the other thread and am posting my thoughts here. I think it is very necessary to have a rational voice heard in this chaotic situation. We need to remind people what they were on the streets for and that further bloodshed is not acceptable. If you have any thoughts on how we can achieve this, we can discuss further.
Peace,
Waterlily

It is time these SPA leaders show that they have the courage to lead the crowd. If they are afraid of the crowd they are supposedly leading themselves, can we still call them leaders? Don't these leaders have any responsibility towards the thousands of people who are out on the street willing to give their life, to the women who were taken away by the police in Thimi, to the children who have died on the street, to the average nepalis who do not have access to food and medical supplies in kathmandu right now? These leaders need to SHOW people what they are dying for ? What is their road map? i know everyone is chanting the word, "ghanatantra" and "constituent assembly" - i do not myself know what and how the modalities of the constituent assembly is going to occur during the transition of power - in case the king steps down.

They need to answer the questions of people, " What next?", "where will you take the country next after I give up my son, my wife, my husband, my mother, my father?" "Who is going to make sure that the transition of power in the country will not be less chaotic and not tainted by blood?"

Yes, right now the king and the government are responsible for the brutality on the streets but aren't these leaders too? Aren't the Maoist too who are supporting the protests and at the same time busy using hospitals and private homes as shields for their attacks? Were not they supposed to be supporting the crowd and abiding by what the crowd decides?

People in the street had gone out on the streets initially because of the rage, frustration, and injustice they had experienced for years. But now the mob mentality has gone out of control - they need to show rationality and the true reason they had descended on the streets in the first place. The were there to demand a Nepal free of violence and fear and somehow they are blindly asking for the king to abdicate without thinking what will happen next. Who will control the military and the police after the King steps down. Would the maoists be as pliable as they are claiming to be while making the constituent assembly? Who will actually take charge of forming this new assembly? Wouldn't it be prudent to negotiate with the king right now and take up the offer and then pave the path for the constituent assembly. At this point, everyone is not budging from their demand - the king is not giving more than what he should have given, people are asking for something which may lead to more bloodshed, the political parties are standing behind the crowd, surfing on the crowd to see what happens next instead of taking charge of the situation.

In this tussle of power and ego, nepalis are getting killed , getting alarmed at the scarcity of food and other basic necessities, and are afraid of a possible anarchy where all of us will get affected. Weren't the Nepalis supposed to be the main agenda of this revolution??? Is that happening at all? We need to start thinking clearly and rationally.
