BB, you are welcome. Hmm.. the problem in tracking the cell phone number may be coz it seems to be pre-paid (SIM) mobile set; not the post paid one. (You can just buy a new pre-paid sim card from the market and you have a new number. )

Regarding the banner man in merosansar, he is the blogger, Umesh Shrestha. You can email and ask why he has put that "weird looking" pic there.

Nepal Ko Chora, I see the problem here (that frikkin person isnt dumb afterall). Errmm..pre-paid ma number trace garna mildaina? I am sure the cell phone company keeps record of the calls from that particular phone number or the transactions of the particular SIM card? (you know what - i have no idea, just possibilities discuss gareko- so pardon me if these sound too stupid).

well, the recharge cards for the pre-paid service have no effect whatsoever on the cell number.. and hence it remains unaffected throughout ! tyesaile if they have the number I don’t see no reason for not being able to get hold of the culprit ! pagal haru! :S ..I mean this guys been doing so much for the country.. and its morally wrong on the part of the government/concerned people to sit idle afno paali ma.

Let me give you a hypothetical situation then. Assume I am using a cell phone with pre-paid SIM in it. I call you and give you a life threat. :P
Obviously, you can see my number in your cell and try to track it. But I just took that SIM card out and threw it in the gutter. I bought a new pre-paid sim card.
(A pre-paid sim card costs just some hundreds bucks.)
Now, how you gonna track my number in that case?

I was not talking about recharging the pre-paid card earlier. I meant to say that you can not track the number if someone chages the PRE-PAID "SIM CARD".
Changing of SIM CARD will obviously results the change in phone number as well.
I hope this might enlighten you a bit.

YOu have to provide nepal telecommunication corporation with your name and other personal information in order to be able get the sim card ( applicable in pre-paid walla too)
so even if you throw/burn/gift :O the card ... it does not alter the info that is with them. k bhanchau?

And, the call was from "MERO MOBILE", not from NTC.

And just for your kind info,
for promotion, MERO MOBILE was distributing their sim cards for free as door prizes in a convert few months ago.

Hmm..regarding personal infos, you can jot anthing on the form if they ask you to fill one to get pre-paid sim card. (Unless they ask to submit supporting documents like copy of citizenship)
