In a sharp tone, Prachanda has blasted the present government and SPA alliance for trying to sideline the maoists despite the success achieved recently which can be credited to the decade long movement of maoists. He accused the government of moving in a snail pace and trying to downplay the role and size of maoists in the country.

Prachanda rejected the proposal by DPM Oli that maoists disarm, and said that he will agree to be under the supervision of some body and that too only if army reciprocates.
Isn't this inviting some further trouble in the peace process? What do you think?

There is no reason for the maoabdis to be in the jungle now, there is no threat. What they were doing inside the jungle can do it openly.

Guys,
I do not understand this politics. Now Prachanda is worried that the SPA might be sidelining the maoists. So, how can you call Girija as being a puppet of Prachanda?

Bibas100:
Are you saying you actually believe in what Prachanda is saying?? C'mon man.....Maoists don't say what they preach, they don't preach what they do. For example, have you hever heard him saying he killed 13000 innocent lives??? Have you ever heard him say, he kidnapped teenagers 13-19 from remote villages to turn them into their cadres?? Have you ever heard him say that Maoists infact looted banks, food and other necessities?? Hell, have you ever heard him say maoists being involved anything bad??? Whatever they do is holy, for the people, whether or not people like it..............Gimme a break......

We cannot justify in anyway to let the maoist go unpunished for what they have done in the past decade, but the question is IF they stick to their promise to disarm and follow a democratic path , is it worth a try? should we let them go for what they have done ? is there a chance that no more blood is going to be spilled ? Some might argue what about the deaths of 13000 people ,what about giving them justice? Some might argue that that those lives are gone, but what about the lives of the people that we could SAVE if the maoist agree to disarm and thus we should let bygones be bygones. But these people ,are they wort trusting? highly unlikely! but they have achieved ,and people have finally supported the same thing that they have been asking for a long time(republic , secular state, army out of kings reach).

i have my own opinion on this ! what about all of you guys ?would be interesting to analyze the mind of our youths, from the people who have actually suffered to the ones that have just observed!

PLEASE be realistic and DONT CURSE and use foul language , it's a pressing matter,i knowwe are passonate and emotional about this matter , but common please mind your language when you answer this question.

As I have always said I prefer that we give a fresh new start. Let the past not inhibit us.
Lets grant amnesty to all so that long term peace is possible. Otherwise, if maoists are to turn back just to avoid humiliation, we are making another blunder.

Sambhu:
I agree, let bygones be bygones...but, don't you think its Maoist's turn now to lay down their arms...If you have been reading the latest news, they want Nepal Army to surrender their weapons to the people...and the Maoist, Dina Nath Sharma told the Govt not to worry about their weapons.......Prachanda says the same thing...the fact is, they don't wanna give up weapons lest people will turn back on them and make them pay for what they did for so long......As we all know, after the Proclaimation, Maoists got what they wanted (the king has no power, RNA is Nepal Army, under the PM's control), I think the next logical step would be Maoists giving up their arms.....What do you all think???

khight...,
It is always reasonable for the rebels to keep their bargaining power when they go to CA. What needs to be done is that we keep both army and maoists under the supervision of some international body. Both must lay down their arms and be under such body so that there wont be fear from any sides...
And all the maoists should be given amnesty...we should not be thinking of punishing them for all those criminal activities in the past...if we want sustainable peace..

Giving amnesty to terrorists is not acceptable. 13000 + people have lost their life. There has been massive extorion and crime against humanity.

If maoists really wanna go into mainstream poltics then they must give up arms. King is a history now. So what maoists want. Its clear a red state.

Maoists should give up arms. A commitee should be formed that will investigate all HR abuses and prosecute the culprits. Be it maoist, be it army.

peace out

No talks without parliament dissolution: Baburam Bhattarai
By Bhola B Rana

Butwal, 21 May: CPN (Maoist) leader Dr Baburam Bhattarai presented a condition and said there will be no dialogue without the dissolution of parliament, Rajdhani reports.

The same day Maoist spokesman Krishna Bahadur Mahara landed in the capital for talks Sunday, Bhattarai said parliament should be dissolved with the launch of talks.

Leader Bhattarai told Butwal FM Sunday parties had only " snatched power from the King".

"The change was only cosmetic," Bhattarai said and added there were no sweeping changes and the state was not reorganized.

Bhattarai angrily denied Maoists were extorting money.

"There are two powers and two economies in this country. We are not forcibly extorting money. We are only collecting voluntary taxes," he said.

Bhattarai said mistakes will be corrected.

highfly,
If we are not prepared to give amnesty, we can never have peace in the country. How can you ask armed men to surrender their arms so that they can be taken to jail? Do you think they are that dumb? This will only further deteriorate the stability of the nation.

We cannot make another blunder anymore...we got to compromise...yes we lost lives but we have had enough..no more loss of lives please...
