Hi,
I am in a predicament. I would appreciate all the help I can get.
After my OPT expired I was supposed to enroll into a program to get an I-20 till my H1 comes through in October. And for that reason I was stupid enough to get an I-20 through a M-1 program which is for vocational training. Now my H1 has been approved but I have been told that I will need to go out of the country to get my status transferrd to H1 because unlike F-1 to H-1 the status transfer from M-1 to H-1 program does not happen automatically. One is required to go out of the country and get it stamped from a consulate.
I was wondering if anyone has had a similar case in the past or knows about such cases. Can I goto Canada for the stamping? Do they take such cases or would I need to go back to Nepal for the stamping? Any reason that I might get rejected?

Will appreciate if someone can guide me through the process.

Thanks and regards
