I am sure some of you did Cambridge A levels and it was pretty tough back then. However, the recent trend is that they have become too easy for the people. Is it that the students are getting smarter, or as reported in the media , is it true that A levels are really getting easier? 43.5% people getting an A grade is really shocking, isn't it? I am trying to collect some of the views of people who did A levels in the past few years. Any views on A levels ( are they easier, future prospects of A level graduates, what should be done if they are too easy...and so forth )would be appreciated. I will be using your views to write an article related to A levels these days. So, make sure you know that you are giving the permission to use your views as you write here (with minor editing if needed). Thanks, bibas

Quick question. The 43.5% that you cite is only for Nepalis who did their A-levels, or is it for students who did it from all over(that is Nepal, England, etc)? I am not too sure what you mean by "A grade". You aren't talking about straight-A's, are you? If 43.5% of students are getting straight-A's, then yeah, that's a cause for concern. If not, then I am not too sure if that's a big deal. It's always been that way if you ask me. From my class alone, more than 43.5% received at least one A. Then again, I did mine more than a decade ago...so, I do not fall under the "did his A-level a few years ago" category. So, can't judge. But you know, and I know, that dumbing down of standardized tests and aptitude tests is a reality. SAT's, once upon a time, was quite good at measure your IQ. These days, not much so.

Sorry for the misleading information. I forgot to cite the source for that as I googled it. Here is something about A levels in Uk. The proportion of exam entries that achieved an A was 24.1%, up 1.3 percentage points on last year, said the Joint Council for Qualifications. Amid continuing concern, ministers are making changes to stretch the brightest students and help universities distinguish between the top performers. The overall A-level pass rate rose for the 24th year, by 0.4 to 96.6%. There were markedly more entries for maths. source: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/education/4801035.stm
