Customs officials in India say they want to question Bollywood superstar Aishwarya Rai over a parcel containing nearly 24,000 euros (£16,000: $30,000).

A declaration form on the packet made no reference to the cash inside, officials say, and could therefore be a violation of customs rules.

Correspondents say it is unclear if Ms Rai is aware of the package, which was sent from Holland, or who it came from.

Ms Rai, who is filming in Rajasthan, has not commented on the matter.

Correspondents say she is expected to meet customs officials later this week.
