Rahulvai -

In Safari, have you tried View> Text Encoding> Unicode (UTF -8) ? This works for me. I have a powerbook G4. You can also go to Preferences >Appearence > Default Encoding and set it to UTF-8

Firefox is trickier - I haven't gotten all Nepali fonts to show up always so I end up using Safari most of the time.

Hope that helps a bit.

I have the same problem. No, Capt. haddock's formula does not work for my new macbook (nor my G5 desktop). What's going on? Any help would be appreciated. Rahulvai, we are on the same boat!

Guys, that's odd. It works perfectly for me. As long as the text is encoded as UTF-8, and the default encoding is set to UTF-8, it should resolve. I tried this on another Powerbook and it worked just as expected. What is your OS version? Mine is 10.4.8.

I have a buddy who does tech support for MAC - I have pinged him - looks like he is out. I'll let you know if I find out anything from him

Pacifier -

When you do View> Text Encoding and set it to UTF-8, that setting only persists for the open session of Safari. Which means when you open Safari again, the default encoding is no longer UTF-8. A new session of the broswer inherits the encoding from the default value set at Safari> Preferences > Appearance> Encoding. On most out-of-the-box Macs, this setting is typically Western ISO .....

If you set it from the Safari preferences, like I pointed out above, you will not need to set it each time. Each new browser session will automatically inherit UTF-8 as the default encoding and you should be able to view Devnagri on Sajha everytime you access the page.

Simonsaurav - Did you change you Safari setting like I mentioned above? I can't think of anything else. Call Apple Support - see if they can find something that overrides the setting in your Safari preferences.
