NC directs its MPs to disseminate news of peace accords in all districts

KATHMANDU, Dec 5 - Nepali Congress on Tuesday directed its MPs to head to the districts for disseminating news of the recent peace agreements inked between the government and the Maoists.
Stating that an atmosphere of fear still persists in the rural villages despite the Comprehensive Peace Accord formally ending the decade long Maoist insurgency, the NC gave the directions to its MPs today in a bid to "dispel such fears from the hearts of the people".
A meeting of the NC central committee at the residence of Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala today deemed such campaigns necessary to ensure a fear free and impartial election to the constituent assembly.
Speaking to media persons after the meeting, central NC member Arjun Narasimha KC said that the meeting had decided that the NC would formulating its policies on the contentious issue of Monarchy based on the opinions of its cadres and the Nepalese people.
Stating that today's meeting was mostly focused on the implementations of the government-Maoist agreements reached till date, KC informed that the discussion had agreed to press the Maoists for the implementations of the accords.
