Changing Nepal from Hindu to a secular state, changing constitution, demolishing the built-in infrastructure so to protest has been the summarized development of 2006 in context of Nepal. What next? Is it a valid question to ask?
What Nepalese leaders from any political mainstream have failed is to simply state the objective or goals in a bullet point format and the execution plan needed to achieve the objectives. In other words what, how and why are missed big?
So how should we Nepalese have faith in these leaders to become a driving force that these people will level up Nepal from its current state?
As I wonder, I feel to read what other have to say?

Yes everything's changed ..Lets say it was the people of Nepal's wish that there should be a change.
Okay now what ... will this have a positive effect in the long run?
I hope so but at the same time doubt.

Nepalese follks wishes should be parallel their leaders, if leaders do not run in parallel with people then what are they for? why are they even leaders? If they do understand the common folks then they have to prove by doing work not being corrupt. In 20 years history of Nepal I have not had a single leader that I can name which I can be proud of? And i dont think Nepal lacks qualified people.

Nepals answer to strive is dim rightnow as everything seems downhill.....but I have mentioned this in my other posts that If Nepal can utilize the great hydro power we have in the right direction..........Nepal will Strive......question is how can we avoid a power struggle to start such a project and how do we avoid dirty politics ...........and finally......how much of the indian influence will we have to face as an obstacle?????....
all we need is a rich powerful country and company represented by honest Nepalese who are not intimidated by India or our politicians to start using our hydro power to benifit the whole country.........................I plan to do somethinglike this in the near future.

Entrepreneur, Entrepreneur and Entrepreneur be it in bottom of the pyramid such as microfinancing or at the higher level in an industrial setting like MadDoGG had mention is only way to thrive. Having said so hurdels from political, bureaucracy and governance come much in the way to start anything or something in case of Nepal. In other countries the three factors listed(PBG) promote to initiate in our case they try to suck money out of it. One way is to fight, another way is to Eradicate, is there is a third way ?
The idea may be not feasible but if we ask all the corrupted leader to return the money to build up a meaningful project such as Hydro power project or another ropeway to a popular tourist destination.

I do agree with Mad dogg.Hydro power is all we have. But proper planning and implementation of this is going to forward nepal in the right direction.
We all know Nepal is a wonderful place to live regarding natural heritage and climate. If we only have a strong government and strong security,we can invite global companies like Caterpiller to have their branch in Nepal, anyways we can have the lowest labor cost and we do have India and China as global importers.
There are few obstacles in the way ,social reform ,Nepal's trust among international firends and as we all know corrupted system. We can go on and on with what needs to be done but the first and foremost thing needed to do is social reform.
Now we have a new government ,new way of thinking...I do think that might bring some bright spots in neplese economy....
By the way Do the Maoist have an economic roadmap????? I would like to see what they have to say about it....
changing the National anthem ,making the country secular are not the urgent things....And my train of thoughts make me ask...do these people really care about Nepal?????

LOOKING AT THE VISION AND CHARACTERS OF THE LEADERS OF NEPAL ...DEFINATELY NEPAL IS GOING TO BE IN BIG MESS!!!!!!!

LACK OF VISION , CREDIBILITY AND GREED IN PART OF THE LEADERS WILL LEAD NEPAL TO TOTAL FAILURE ...IF NOT SHOW ME ONE LEADER WHO IS RESPECTED BY ALL AND CAN TAKE NEPAL UNITED TO MAKE NEW NEPAL????

Nepal will not economically thrive until Nepali people living abroad especially the young ones with vision goes back and does something. People keep talking about leaders not doing this and not doing that, what about you? What have you done if anything to help Nepal or Nepali? We in foreign country are too busy creating our own society based on ethnicity and busy dividing ourselves, rather then saying listen we lack all these things in our country and we should create fundraiser to get them back to our country.

Also how can people say that Nepal would economically thrive when there are close to about 20.000 young Nepalese leaving the country for a cheap source of labor to India, Malaysia, Qatar, etc... These people do not learn any new skills but just learning how to do a job that no one else want to do.

Forget uniting a country which is one of the hardest thing in the world, it is also a virtue that no Nepali has because it has proven by the educated bunch in America and around the world where we see a divided Nepali organizations without any vision. Not one organization goes out of the way to lets do something for Nepalese or Nepal together.

So a line summary of ne23pe argument would be:
All Nepalese living abroad(especially youngsters with vision) should go to back to Nepal to help her climb up in the economic ladder. Am i right?
Also it is very hasty judgement to say what Nepalese abroad have done, to name just few are Help Nepal Network, Nepalese Children Educated Fund and SEBS organising DoKo Library are few that I am aware of. I am sure there are others too. To have the motto to do something for Nepal is an initiative or positive attribution regardless one does or not, to not have any is ones mere choice and I guess nothing is wrong with that.

Hey Sidster...back after long time..ya i keep hanging here..

well ne23pe ..i don't disagree with you ..But the truth is those jungles will eat you up if you go there ..Many have tried and have failed ...and what happens u become one of them ..

It is better to stay here and not be one of them than to go there and be one of them or be frustrated fool.

if we cannot make our country's future better don't nepalese living abroad have right to make their own future better???just a thought man..again i don't disagree ..

but Nepal is a Hopeless case..If it was on sale , i wouldn't buy it.Nevertheless i love it.
and it is sad to see disintegrated and divided.I can't help .I can just express my frustration .I can help some organization which is helping .I cannot go and make change.I have changed but all nepalese need to change for good.

In its present economic structure and policy, there are limited chances for Nepal to prosper.

The India, very growing economy is investing in many parts of Nepali terai. Sometimes,

they are building schools, roads etc. They are gradually capturing the nepalese economy.

I wonder that why India is freely allowed to invest although investment seems related to social

welfare. First social welfare, then they will capture economically and someday capture ........

Unless we have a business relationship with China, its hard to compete with Indian

economy, though possible. The attitude and morale of Nepalese people is more important for

its country's development.

Nepal first needs some very strict rules for a start. Anybody who is guilty should be tried fair and sqaure in the court of law..Unfortunately as of now if you are Girija Koirala you can easily get away even if you are involved in Lauda Air case, Tanakpur case.

Also Can we for once accept our mistakes instead of pointing finger to others? Look at Madhav Nepal he came cameout of the Palace Massacare investigation team to save his a$$ and since he is not involved he can easily point at others and say you didn't do your job well.

It is not necessary to go back to Nepal to help our country. Has anyone tried sponsoring a Nepali Kid? It takes 20$ a month..that is probably money we spend on can of soda per month.

I have been away from home for 12 years now, have stayed in 3 different countries and have always tried to remove misconception of my country that people have letting people know good aspects of my country and I think that way at least I am contributing something to my country and I personally beleive it is far more better than being in Nepal, wearing Daura Suruwal and taking money under the table or provoking students to burn tires in the street! Just my 2 cents
