Meditate to Succeed

There's no shortcut to success, goes the adage. However, talent, productivity and determination
can be enhanced and success assured with a little bit of meditation. It is not about holding your
breath and putting your effort day and night. Instead, you can concentrate on your breath to
achieve success.

While all of us are aware of the positive impact that can be attained through meditation, in both personal and professional lives, many of us are not aware of the methods of meditation. "If you can meditate for 45 minutes at a stretch without any disruption everday for 45 consecutive
days, you will attain power with which you can make the impossible possible. Once you reach this state, you will attain health, wealth and success at your disposal," says Guru Harish H K, the recent winner of the best coach award by the World Yoga Society.

However, it's not that easy to acquire this state but depends on an individual's capability. It can take anytime between a fortnight and couple of months, and one needs to have patience to attain this. Initially, a beginner of meditation can begin meditating for five to 10 minutes, and can slowly increase the duration. If you think that meditation involves sitting with a firm back in any particular asana, you are wrong. According to Harish,"Meditation means exercising your mind and not your body. You can sit in any way you feel comfortable. You can also sit on a
sofa, bed, chair or floor, with or without back rest."

And if you are wondering on how to go about the entire process, here are the guidelines.

To begin with, focus on your breathing and observe it carefully. Try to feel yourself inhale and
exhale. Now the obvious question that comes to your mind is where's the time to meditate? There's lot of time if you follow this.

According to Harish, meditation should be done either late at night or early in the morning, when the world around you is lulled in deep slumber. Moreover, as 20 minutes of meditation
is equivalent to an hour of sound sleep, it's not a problem to cut down your sleeping hours for
meditation. Energy, breathing and the mind are linked. So when your mind is disturbed your breath and energy also gets disturbed.

By meditating you can rebalance your body and mind, thus leading to a higher sense of clarity and peace of mind.

hehehhehe....i try meditation once or twice when i am too disturbed........but not on a regular basis.........but i am a believer in meditation.....i think i should do it each day...but i think the food you eat has a lot to do with your mind-body chemistry too!!!!!
