this is clash of two different world. His parents came to usa for better life and better future for their kids. his sister went to princeton and he went to virginia tech. his parents worked hard in dry cleaning. he was about 8 when he came here. what i think is, may be his parents did not have enough time for him and he felt lonely from beginning after they came to usa. i am pretty sure he could not speak english when he came here, so he might have been in situation when he was rejected by group of kids in his school. this might have big impact on his childhood memory.
he was not from rich family in usa, so he has so much hate towards rich people. the reason could be rich kids might have behaved in a bad way to him and girls might have rejected him and so on. all this things made him lonely, alone in this world and he could not make friends.
i think many 1st generation or even second generation immigrants might face what he faced but he was not strong enough. not all people can be strong and he became depressed. it is necessary for parents to keep track of their kids behavior. this kind of incident rarely happen in our country, but here, people are so busy with work that they dont have enough time for their kids and dont know what they are going through. i am sure, had he been to counseling he would have been better person.
very tragic situation. so many innocent people died because of this. this guy poursed his frurstration, anger to those innocent people, thats is very sad. but lets think this way too, dont you think there can be more of such kids in usa in this environment? who knows ? i dont know what can be done, but something needs to be done. they dont want to change the rule for gun purchase, do they?
how many of nepali students who came to usa in early age and did their high school here in usa have gone through some rough time?
