Dear all,

My sister got accepted at Southwest State Minnesota University. Does anyone know anything about the school? Any nepalese there? What are the chances of getting scholarships? Should I tell her to come........

Guys, if any of you know anything about that school, please please shed some light and help me out. I need your help!!!

Thanks.

I was there in '97-'98. Not many nepali then, but what I have heard is that there are more than 200 nepali students in the college. The weather is harsh in Marshall. The current students should be able to answer other questions.

yes i am one of the nepalese students in the smsu. the university is good enough and is not too much expensive . but the weather during the winter is too much low. snow and snow is the only thing u can only see there. no chances of working out of the college and low chances of geting on campus job as the places are already full but one can get after first semester. and overall the university is good . and there are around 150 nepalese students in there. if u wanna know more please let me know i will tell. and tell your sister to come .

i have just completed my first semester in smsu but io was not able to get a jib in there. and doing offcampus job is risky coz the palce is small and u may be seen but alot of nepalese are doing either. and as a freshman student i was not allowed to stay off campus . and i stayed in the residence hall. and u should pay around 1800 for the room and if u take the meal plan u should pay 2800 altogether. and about the weather in winter it is too hard . one can not go out without a car
me and m,y friends tried to walk for our groceries to the walmart but it was too too much hard
we had to ask for a ride in the middle of the way. but nepalese in there are helpful . they usd to give us ride to the walmart. but one should be friendly with them

thats all

and the palce is not too much expensive
thank you
