I am in a really BIG trouble and I hope someone can suggest some way to get out of this. I have a "stiuation" with a dhoti consultancy. I had an H1B petition filed through a dhoti consultancy as well as from my real job. My H1 from the real job didnt get selected in the lottery but the one from the dhoti did. But my OPT doesnt end until January of next year and so I was planning to work my real job (mero padhaisanga related job where I actually made good money) until my H1 got approved, but these dhotis kept asking me to come immediately and start a training in one of the IT softwares so that I can get on a project. I complied (damn it!!) and that was back in June. But my H1 got denied because of some mistakes that they did while filing my H1 (they mistakenly filed my petition as a masters when actually I just had a bachelors, so the USCIS just flatly denied the whole petition). Now I cant go back to my previous work and this consultancy hasnt been able to get me any interviews let alone a project. I am running out of all my savings and once my OPT expires, I will be out of status if I dont get an F1 of some sort from a college or Kaplan (which, again, costs money that they are not willing to pay)

What should I do in this situation guys?? I am thinking about reporting them to Department of Labour (DOL) or maybe sue them???

I was in somewhat similar situation. My OPT expires in Apr, but I have a job as of now. Get yourself a job by any means. That way you can pay for school and Dhoti can pay you cash after Jan to OCT.

I just recently started applying for jobs but no luck so far. Good luck to you by the way MN_Nepali.

But do you think I should just let the dhoti company slip away for the mess they have put me in??
