The
UML (United Marxist Leninist)’s bottom-less general secretary, Mr.
Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that if he replaces Girija Prasad Koirala
as the country’s next prime minister, he can restructure the country
and establish permanent peace within five years time.
“Prime
Minister Girija Prasad Koirala has remained unsuccessful to find an
outlet from the current impasseâ€, he said adding that if he were the
prime minister he would not only restructure the country but develop it
as well within five years.
“I have the ability to restore peace more than what has been desired by the people of this countryâ€, said the shaky UML captain.
“Make me the prime minister, I’ll restore peace, initiate development activities as wellâ€, he continued.
Mr. Nepal was speaking at a program organized by the BBC-Nepali service in Banepa, Kavre District yesterday.
He
however, revealed that King Gyanendra too had urged him to become the
prime minister thrice in the past and that he declined. Similarly, says
Nepal, currently he is being pressurized for the post of the PM by the Maoists too.
“It is only the UML that can restore peace, Girija Prasad Koirala cannot do itâ€, Mr. Nepal who looked in a mood to criticize only Koirala-the PM, added.
Mr. Nepal
whose daughter(Ms. Nepal) is currently undertaking a MBBS course under
the grant assistance of the Indian Government, ridiculing recent
Koirala’s claim that if India
desired the Terai crisis will be solved in minutes, said it was
ridiculous to ask for the Indian help in solving Terai dispute- that is
Nepal’s internal one.
To recall, Mr. Nepal is the third leader after Upendra Yadav(MJF), Rajendra Mahato(NSP-M) to have defended India in an oblique manner.
“We do not need foreign intervention to solve Nepal’s internal problemsâ€, he added.
Analysts
say that Madhav Nepal appears to have received a positive nod from
New-Delhi establishment and thus has begun day dreaming.
