I am also here to look for some decent advice like Natalie1. My situation is little bit different than hers or you all can say one step ahead. I am a student and have been a here for a semester. I am living with my close relatives. They have been very supportive to me. But I am also been advised to meet some guys because it’s about a time. I am also a girl of 25. So I am going to meet some people during Christmas.
I have never been in any relationship. I have had some infatuations but I didn’t pursue it because of family values or you can say I didn’t want to take risk. After reading Natalie’s thread and also some other posting in Sajha, it seems like it’s difficult to find someone who didn’t have any past relationship in life although it shouldn’t be my priority. I know lot of people who had past but they seem to be living happily with his/her present partner. So if I meet the guy how would I know that he can leave behind his past and ready to commit for a new relationship. What are the things that I should focus to make sure of it? How difficult it is for men to do so…. Please advise me and I also request you all to provide some decent views or experiences.

Honesty is the major issue here i guess. During this X-MAS if magic happened and u find him good enough for you initially (getting along in conversation, humor, good looking and everything) and if he wants to comit a relationship with you, then the next step would be to be honest and ask him questions. This is the way to go i guess. But don't it the other way round. Guys gets freaked out if you do it the second way, atleast i would get freaked out. Keep your mind open and get into conversation with guys.
I wish i could get you that shades with terminator vision showing all the profiles while you see........

hahahahaha....another one ...hahahaha friendship, love doesn't happen with one shot of tequilla....like you just take the shot, lick the salt, squeeze some lemon and boom! "i am in love" hahahahahahaha. .it takes ample time to grow feeling for someone into somebody. so my humble suggestion: start out being a friend of his. know him closely enough so that there is no 'risk' whatsoever in starting out a serious relationship. grow over those typical romantic movies plot girl. you cannot be liking someone over a length of a romantic song: "mujhe neend na aaye, neend na aaye" hahahaha and what you mean by "it's about time"?? love happens, you cannot force someone to like you. but you can better yourself to make yourself likable for more number of people so give yourself a chance. be his friend first... rest time will decide... hope that helps... next?

Thanks Poonhill, To be friend, in fact honest and true, should be one approach to the solution.
Thanks LooteKukur, I was actually thinking the same thing how hindi movies has affected nepalese girls' psychology back in Nepal. Most of the times, Knight in Shining Armor happens in book. I just hope that whoever the guy is he would be honest and truthful to mel.
