lol...indians...oh man....they din expect to be whitewashed in australia as they used to perform decently in australia compared to other nations
i guess there was more of a bad luck to the indians and certainly the umpire was really inefficient....but nevertheless, australians deserve to win it...a big win...yup..i was watchin all the tests....it was really the best test finish i have ever seen....

.if india does pull out of the tour, it will be a big blow to the cricket world...aussies will probably not go back to india in the future...probably they wont play with india except in competitions.....this will be a mess...

.indians will probably wont take that step as it will hurt them more...people will start talking about the indians being unable to play with australia no matter how the umpires were in the matches....n the 20-20 was still there to come for them to show.....

Aussies, the best!!!!

I think it will be a big blow to the cricketing world if India backs out from the tour..Well, If you guys can remember how many wrong decisions  happen in the Indian subcontinent?..especially with bat-pad catches from the bowling of spinners..Previously,Indians had local umpires  even for test matches  in India ..They used to make so many wrong decisions against the visiting teams...Nobody raised  a strong voice against those...However, its a different scenario in the present series.. Its India playing and people as well as media are crazy about cricket in India ..For the future references, new ways should be imposed to eliminate wrong decisions...For example, if a batsman strongly  feels  he has been given wrong decision ,may be , he can appeal the decision to the ground umpires ..Consequently, ground umpires can call for third umpire....However, problem still remains  if the batsman is adjudged not out although he was technically out..

Judge yourself: Sourav’s catch (left) and Dravid’s nick

The cricketing world was left shocked after a series of controversial umpiring decisions and ‘unjust’ behaviour by the Australian players during the Sydney Test. It was followed by off-spinner Harbhajan Singh being banned for three Test matches for alleged racial abuse against Andrew Symonds. The ban came after an apparent one-sided hearing by match referee Mike Procter. Indian skipper Anil Kumble reacted by saying that "only one team played in the right spirits." The video clips clearly indicate that India were at the receiving end.

The new revelations also indicate that Symonds had hurled abuses at Harbhajan Singh which instigated him.  India is getting an unprecedented support from the Australian media. Former Australian cricketers have also criticised the behavior of the hosts during the Sydney Test.

Just becos you hate Dhotis doesn't mean that you have to support those arrogant a$$hole Aussies in every matter. If it's wrong-its wrong. Indians lost in Melbourne, they accepted it. When you have 8 decisions in a test match go agaist you, there is something wrong. Hell, there even was a stumping decision by 3 rd Umpire which showd Symonds was clearly out and he gave 'not out'. Talk about fairness. If  you have watched the game, even if you are an Aussie fan, you would be embarassed.

I think I could do better Umpiring than freaking stupid Bucknor. He had been a great Umpire but he is past his sell-by date.

Like I said earlier: India Team     c benson  b Bucknor

India is now speaking the power of money and nothing else.  Team has been blatantly given out and biased even in the past.

Australia lost the Ashes in 2005 after almost 2 decades with some shocking decisions where almost 80 to 90% went against them. They never complained. I believe for Australia ashes is more important series than anything else.

India themselves have a history of bad umpiring.  Who can forget the 10 wickets taken by Anil Kumble in Delhi. Many experts says that kumble owe largly to umpire Jayaprakash.  Similarly when Harbhajan took a hattrick in kolkata against Australia to win and late the seires on Sydney herald newspaper wrote  "Umpire took the hatrick".

Banning umpire have started a dangerous precedence. I don't think Australia have done anything wrong in appealing. Every player is entitled to appealing that doesn't make anybody as a cheat.

Let's get a sense of balance. No Indian writing or broadcasting from Sydney mentioned that replays showed Sachin Tendulkar was out leg-before when he was in the twenties. He added roughly the same number of runs that Symonds did after being reprieved when he was first out.

Ponting's integrity may be in question after he claimed a catch off Mahendra Singh Dhoni though the ball touched the ground. Just as you can't be a little pregnant, you can't be a little upright. Integrity is indivisible. But if the two captains had an agreement regarding catches close to the wicket, then Mark Benson was right in turning to Ponting when Sourav Ganguly was caught. After all, Steve Bucknor was further away from the action.

Indians are not innocents. The average number of Tests played by the Sydney XI is 65. That's enough time to learn all the tricks. Ishant Sharma, in his third Test, showed you don't need to have played 65. His ridiculous time-wasting tactic of walking out with two right gloves would have embarrassed a schoolboy.

West Indies board hits out at Bucknor dropping

Cricinfo staff

January 9, 2008

Steve Bucknor has been replaced for the Perth Test by Billy Bowden © Getty Images

The president of the West Indies Cricket Board has attacked the ICC's decision to remove Steve Bucknor from umpiring in the Perth Test as being an "extreme" reaction.

In a letter to ICC president Ray Mali, Julian Hunte compared the situation to the way the ICC handled a similar complaint lodged by the WICB during West Indies' tour to Australia in 2005. "The ICC's reaction by Dave Richardson [the ICC's cricket manager] was to acknowledge that errors were made but to insist that 'the overall standard of umpiring has improved in recent years, particularly with the advent of the elite panel'.

"It would be interesting to know what made this situation any different." The match referee during that series was Mike Procter, who is again at the centre of the storm following the Sydney Test.

Hunte has asked Mali to provide information to the WICB to enable it to consider what action it might want to take. It has asked for copies of all communication between the ICC and Bucknor, the ICC and other parties and the report of the match referee.

"There is no question that even the best umpires make mistakes," Hunte concluded. "They are human and there are circumstances which may affect their judgement. What worries us is whether the action of the ICC in the case of Bucknor might create even more problems for the ICC and international cricket down the line."

The ICC's move was also slammed by Clive Lloyd, the former West Indian captain and match referee. "You wonder what confidence this gives umpires," he told BBC Radio 5 Live. "I don't think anybody is out there to cheat anybody. The umpires I have had, particularly at ICC level, have been excellent. They are people who are very honest and who I trust implicitly. Every time something goes against you it doesn't mean the guy is cheating. Nobody is infallible. We all make mistakes - we have to accept it as that. That has always been part of cricket - we have to accept the decision and move on."

I agree . why there is different yardstick for india and other team. ICC is clearly worried not to disappoint india because of the revenue they get from BCCI .

Same thing happened to westindies in 2005 in Australia but the umpire was not replaced. Just shows the double standard  of ICC towards the poor countries.

Allright India got decision in their favour. Lets see how they can stop being thrashed at the fastest wicket in the world of perth.

suike. Why isnt indian media talking about the few decisioins that went in favour of india in this test. Like a plumb LBW decision to sachin tendulkar given not out when he was on 20 before he made  150 odd runs . Ricky ponting wrongly given out in first innings.

Time and again , over 100s of time if they keep on showing what went wrong against them is just misleading general public.

The fact that there is  not even a single umpire from India is in the top elite panel of ICC shows the standard of their umpiring. Umpire hariharan and Jayaprakash was shocking umpires to say the least. Ask Australia on 2001 culcutta test or Pakistan in the 1999 Delhi test.

Its not India but their power of money that is making a statment which i believe is completely wrong.

guys i read some of the comments above

i follow cricket and followed ind aus 2 nd test and i can say that i havenot seen that bad umpiring till now

no umpire asks player whether catch is taken or not if u have

doubt u go to 3rd umpire

i know that umpire r human and can make mistakes but not  8 or 9 mistakes in one test match or more than 3 mistakes in one innings(will be better to say in few overs)

and one more thing ausis are ruling cricket now if u can remember there are always controversery with a visiting team in austrilia.be it india, srilanka, west indies

and about the ban in harbhajan singh i think ricky pointing should be banned for excessive appealing

nepwanted. I watched in star news yesterday, both the Indian and Australian players clearly agreed before the series that they will take the words of fielding side in case of catch in doubt.

So i believe we cannot say umpire made a bad decision by asking the fielding player because it was all in agreement.

I agree India did played well in this test. Having said that this wasn't express perth that we come to expect over the years.  In this test majority of the decisions went against Australia. They lost by 72 runs means that decisions were very crucial.  One thing I admire about the Australian team is that they don't make  Hue and Cry like an indian team about the bad decisions.

When India stopped their winn of 16 consecutive win in Kolkata in 2001 several decisions went against aussies. Same thing happened to Australia in Ashes 2005.  But they didn't complained and made an issue.

Having said that Australia do need to learn on field behavior from some of the indian playes.

agreed with no_quiero
there were few decision that went against OZ. I watched the whole match .. there were many cases where Billy and another pakistani Unpire did not give decison in favor of India and Dhoti commentators started blaming umpire again ..

It is Dhoti mentality and it will be always there .. Now look what they are saying ..

Dhoti bowlers are the best in the world ..what a joke .... what a f cking joke ....

I know they will loose by a big margin in 4th test and ,U will see .. they will cry again

and let me tell you one thing ... if India would have lost this game .. they would have requested to ban 'Billy' and another Pakistani Umpire ..

F cuk Dhoti and their Commentator ...
