Its one of the least unorganized intenrationals . They dont have proper labels for transit lounge. You need to wait at the immigration area to be picked up by airline personnel before you are granted an entry to the transit lounge. Once you enter the lousy transit lounge you can not get out of it. Passengers before getting into the lounge is logged manually in a log book. Airline personnel, security personnel are not helpful at all. Needless to expect courtesy from dhoti bhai. The transit lounge looks like the train station of a remote Chinese village. Non padded hard-plastic-chair, lack of air condition, public phone service, restaurant etc Baggage claim is another nightmare. Most of the airlines dont have partnership with Indian carriers and you can not check your baggage all the way to KTM. You need to rely on your fate if it shows up in KTM. You need to come out of the immigration to claim your baggae. Once you are out forget about getting back to the transit. My Samsonite suitcase literally was out of shape when I got it in KTM.

I would avoid to fly via India as much as possible.
