A group of new Nepalese students pursuing Master's degree at UT Dallas have been caught cheating during an exam and have been suspended from the University.

Yes, it's true. One of my friends' sister also got kicked out from UT Dallas. But he said they were not caught in the exam. They were actually caught for plagiarism when all of the Nepalese from the same class submitted similar thesis paper.

I think Plagiarism is quite a problem for new nepalese students since we only give credits in Reference section. Here you have to give it in lines and para. One of my friend got F in one course in undergraduate program, and still to these days it is hunting him in his graduate program. Get into the system people.

You steal excerpts from one source and that's plagiarism...You steal excerpts from many sources and that's research!!  Wonder who came up with this stuff.

Hope these Neps can convince the Dean and the Professor to put them back into the program otherwise they're gone for good unless they apply afresh into another university and get accepted into it within the 45 days of their expulsion (and F1 visa forfeiture).  Now that they've learnt a lesson, lets hope they get a chance back into bettering their lives and being honest for a change...Peeps , wkae up, these sort of things are rampant in nepal and India only.  Here one needs to work hard too.

I haven't heard anything like that in the university. Alltogether 12-15 Nepali are attending UTD. Most of them are doing Phd, Masters and some of them are doing Undergraduate course. Nepali Students are doing very good here academically, very competitive in class, liked by professors, and are very helpful to eachother. Upto my knowledge this is a false statement. Nepali's are rocking in UTDallas. DajuBhai haru Please be sensetive before throwing the statement.
