Well, I'm NOT a musician however after I got Giitar Pro 5 software ( http://www.guitar-pro.com/en/index.php ) and NUENDO software ( http://www.steinberg.net/1409_1.html ) I decided to write my own notes on Guiar Pro 5 software and produce the music tracks on NUENDO software on nothing more than my HP laptop...

Audio quality is not the finest because of the hardware (soundcard) limitations of my laptop...anyway here are the latest three instrumental tracks I produced  and published at http://www.garageband.com/artist/fallen2grace

Very Interesting. I like it. It appears that you have rendered those midi track from Guitar Pro into audio and played around with Nuendo. Nuendo is mostly for audio at pro level. Have you tried FL Studio, Ableton Live, Propellerhead Reason, Acid, Project 5 or Storm instead? Those might be more friendly with your setup, you might like them better, but it's your choice. I prefer Reason the most.I've used Guitar Pro to read tabs a few times. But it's very interesting what you've done with it. It sounds dark and ambient, which is cool. I can hear the clicks and pops, you definetly need a better soundcard.

Keep up the good job bro and hope to hear more in the future.

Thanks Bob Marley bro

Yes...yes that is the greatest thing about Guitar Pro..being able to create MIDI

files from the notes I write on Guitar Pro and export it to NUENDO and play with VST

(Virtual Sound Instruments) like Native Insturments' "Reaktor 5"

( http://www.native-instruments.com/index.php?id=reaktor5 ) in NUENDO.

I can add a fine soundcard to my desktop but whenever I add Creative

Audigy soundcard to my desktop it comes in conflict ASIO driver (which runs NUENDO

and most of the other music sampling apps) and ASIO simply does not work. When

ASIO does not work, it means none of the music sampling apps work including the

host app NUENDO so I simply gave up installing NUENDO or any other music sampling

apps to my desktop and instead tried those apps on my laptop which has soundcard that

is not as good as my desktop ...but it works...and ASIO driver works perfectly with

all sampling apps including the host NUENDO.

By the way I have "Ableton Live" and "Fruity Loops" in my system. I rarely use

Ableton Live becasue I simply could not get a clue about how Ableton Live works...and

I found that Fruity Loops is a great apps mostly for dance, techno and Hip Hop stuffs...man !!

when I tried to play heavy rock tracks on VST version of Fruity Loops in NUENDO...MAN !! it sounded

like a crap...and I have not tried creating rock tracks with Fruity Loops ever since.

Kaobadhi Ji
I'm pretty sure Nuendo SHOULD support ASIO driver for your Audigy, have you checked their websites, Audigy and Steinberg both?. I've used Cubase SX3 (which is Nuendo by architecture) with ASIO, no problem. I didn't know in detail and didn't like the Linear flow of the Cubase sequencer. You should try learning Ableton, it's way easier to write down your creativity once you know the basic. Beside the linear flow of music, it features clip (horizontal instead of vertical flow), which makes things a lot easier. I've got a DVD tutorial, in case you need it.

You're right, FL Studio is mostly for dance music. I don't know which version you have. The newer version 7 has lot of new features added including a pretty descent audio recorder, eqs, compression and spectra analysis. So it should be OK for Rock composition too. Its' CPU hog though. It doesn't matter, at the end of the day, what makes you comfortable is the biggest issue. I use Reason for my drums, sampling and synth and REWIRE them to Ableton in case I have to record any audio.I'm getting pretty good with Reason after switching from FL Studio, took a while with the learning curve. And I use very few VST these days, only if I learn how to program my own sound using them rather than scrolling through presets..It's good enough for me right now. I used to collect lot of shit and never use them. By the way I've used NI Reaktor, it's just too vast for me to stick with it and learn, it's got killer sound though. I use NI Massive instead these days, it's small application with good sound. If you're into sound programming, try MAX/MSP. You can make your own VST with it.

So how exactly do you write those midi data in the Guitar Pro? Do you use a midi keyboard or is it by mouse click? That would be dreadful, all the energy you put in with mouse clicks.

Bob Marley Bro

Yes, you are right. Nuendo and Cubase SX are architecture very simlilar though I

abandoned Cubase SX in favour of Nuendo only because of some trivial ( minor ) stuffs that are

available in Nuendo.

I started using Nuendo with no prior knowledge on how to use it...I mistakenly thought

it was just another sound editing program like "Adobe Audition". I guess I've gotten

relatively good at using Nuendo after many months of using it.

Yes, Native Instruments' VST(i) are killer apps. I have used at least one or more NI

VST(i)s for every music track I have created so far. You are right I hardly use

factory presets built for these VST(i)s because all the tracks would sound alike

if I were to do so.

And yes, you are right all the tracks I have created are based on 'mouse clicks' in

Guitar Pro but Guitar Pro makes things very easy and convinient. And for someone

like me who is not a musician at all and only knows to read and write musical

notes...it's a gift. In some instances I had to create only single 'bar' of notes for example in

track http://www.garageband.com/song?|pe1|S8LTM0LdsaSjZlK3YmE and rest of the 70 or

so 'bars' of this guitar track are based on the same notes of the first 'bar' and so are the

entire other guitar and bass tracks of this entire composition.

Ohh..by the way...I'm not a programmer at all...I stay 100 miles away from any kind of programming

except 'expressions' which I have to use in Adobe After Effects once in a while.

My latest instrumental rock track here at  http://www.garageband.com/song?|pe1|S8LTM0LdsaSjZlWxYG0

it is an incomplete track though so it is about only 1 minute and 40 seconds long...I'll put out the longer full

version when I complete writing the entire track at later date.
