A love is immortalized, even as it dies...
A Union is celebrated, even as it breaks...
A hero is born, even as he is defeated...

Devdas, a poignant saga of timeless love and emotional anguish that will tenderly touch the hearts of all those who love and believe in love. For ever and ever!

The people remembered that this is from the same maker who gave us KHAMOSHI and HUM DIL DE CHUKE SANAM. Much was expected from this film. Regarding the production cost of this film, which is said to be around 50 Crores, one of the expensive one so far.
I watched DEVDAS yesterday. I was left speechless. Words cannot decribe the sheer beauty of this film. Right from the beginning till the last frame. Each moment of the film is pure magic. Shah Rukh has given his career’s best shot and immortalised the tragic story of the doomed lover. Madhuri and Aishwarya, looks gorgeous.

Taking all the pros and cons, the film manages to hold the audience’s interest, mainly because of its exquisite sets, costumes and classical dance, and dialogue. So go watch it! It's worth your time and money. You might have to stay in a line to get in for good seats but not for the tickets.

Devdas is the story of a love beyond all else...even life.
The saga of a man called Devdas who loved, loved and just loved...

Devdas shared a magnetic childhood with his lovely playmate Paro where supreme love was felt before it was understood. When youth beckoned, the loved intensified. But, alas, a fateful moment of weakness on the part of Devdas created a permanent wall of seperation between him and his beloved Paro. On one side of the wall was a heartbroken Paro who became the wife of another. And on the other, was a completely shattered Devdas. Unable to bear the agony of a life without Paro, Devdas made alcohol his constant companion. But that could not make him forget the piercing pain. Even the unflinching devotion of a beautiful courtesan Chandramukhi, did not ease the heartache of losing Paro. It was only when his eyes closed to a permanent sleep, did the pain begin to fade. But even before losing the light of life, all Devdas urged, was to see his Paro just once ...Thus giving his love the greatest dignity ...It was at Paro's doorstep, that the doors of heaven opened for Devdas.

Strange was the fate of Devdas. Intensely loved by two women, who were never meant to be his. One, whom he could never love and the other, whom he could never stop loving…He left behind a testimony of true love, that was pure, chaste, undemanding...
and thus immortal. Indeed, love was his life...
love makes him live on...

the best part about the movie was that it finally ended. shahrukhs overacting made me reach for the disposable bag that should have come complimentary with the movie. if this is the magnum opus is his career, mr.khan leaves us badly wanting. even though aishwarya and madhuri acted well it is nonetheless bewildering as to how this movie was nominated in cannes. id rather watch die hard with a vengence again.

Try to appreciate art dude. Devedas, simply not a movie, its an ar..., a creative work...Hardwork from all artists and technicans.

So what it is made my indians. Do not you know that cameraman Binod Pradhan and singer Udit Narayan contribute for Devdas. I dont understand why people has such cheap mentality.

Both Udit Narayan and Binod Pradhan are INDIAN citizens so don't be claiming them as Nepali .

Citizenship is not an important issue. People has to take citizenship due to different reasons, problems. Nepali living in overseas are dying to take citizenship to overcome different problem.

Does it mean that they are not Nepali?
Yes they are.

What my point is whatever citizen they hold, Nepal is always associated with them. This is an important thing. Good job Udit and Binod.

It is indeed sad that in this world bigots are everywhere. Had the indians not been the discriminatory bigot that they are Udit Narayan would not have had to take indian citizenship and would not have had to say that he is from some small town in Bihar.

Like wise, this is the case all over the world. If people could freely move about and there was no discriminatory procedure based on country of origin then this world would be such a peaceful place to live in.

But the world being what it is, people have to show in manitude of ways(going out of their way) that they belong to the community in which they live.
We Nepalis also dislike the Dhotis coming to our country and making money. This is a law:If a person can look down upon another person, then s/he will. So the indians call us bahadur and think that we are some how mentially inferior. Similarly, we think of indians as cowards, dumb and negros.

I am not saying what an Indian calls a Nepali or vice versa. What I have seen so far is Nepalese and Indians have Love HATE relationship. Nobody wants to acknowledge the fact that Nepal is dependent on India (due to geographic regions).Pokhari ma basepachi thulo maachaa sanga jhagda garnu bhanda mitrataa gaansnu nai uchitt hoina ra? And also I have seen Nepalese abroad are dependent on Indians ( whatever name one can give to them) for various reasons. They maskaa maaroing he saheb ji for the hariyo patta....So many nepalese work in Indian restaurants, gas stations and file H1 and hariyo patta.....

Udit Narayan was born to Nepali parents but due to his position in Indain Media does not want to call himself a Nepali then why do you care????? You want to claim him as Nepali because he's abig shot in Indian CInema and is a famous singer. Why don't you want to claim all other PIDIT nepalese wroking in various parts of India as coolies and bahadurs. (I bet some of you are ashamed of that).

And by the way to all the haters in here, where do you go to buy MASALa, chaamal, daal ,samosas and other goodies? AND ALSO why are Nepali Gilrs and women wearing LAHANGA and bindi (wear in forehead with a chain clipped on the hair, not tika)like Indians do, why are they copying the Indian fashion and tradition ? Did they run out of saaris or fool boottey dhoti?

HATE promotes anger which will destroy YOU and just YOURSELF, NOBODY else...
I am not saying one should love all other nationalities but what's the point? Life is too short to let yrself strangled in these minor and pointless issues....
LIVE AND LET LIVE!

Aafu Bhalo ta JAGAt bhalo!
