ask for more deduction.....hospital bill can be lowered as much as 50-40% (depending on your income and situation).... so in your case ..... talk ...like ur damm broke but ur sincere about ur credit/payment. tell them that i go to college and i can pay max 1000 or so and want to pay in installment ..... usually they accept

this is very common .... it is not new case....and they will understand you

Many credit agencies might try to “help” you but be very careful before taking the bait. Do good research on the firms if you plan to go that route. Know also your rights if creditors begin to harass you (they can’t).

One good idea might be to write a letter to the credit agency and the hospital both and ask for reduction of payment to whatever you can afford. This works sometimes.

As for you question regarding the information staying in your credit card: 7 years.

Credit history ma 3 years samma bascha. If I were you , I would just ignore it coz  it is already reported to credit bureau.

Default061, kalle bhanyo 3 years? I hate when people give blatantly false information, specially overriding an information given my somebody else. It stays there for 7 freaking years homeboy.

"According to the FCR Act Section 605 a debt can remain on a credit report for 7 years and 180 days after the delinquency that caused the account to go bad"

Sr2008, kuddo haina Kiddo bro. The reason I emphasized on writing a letter is because rather than just talks is because it gives more formality and documentation.Corporations will treat it more seriously and it has personally worked for me. While you can still try Geico's approach, it might not yield much specially since Hospital will tell you it is already forwarded to credit agency and they can't do much and you have already asked the Credit agency for reduced fine. Becareful, sometimes Creditors can call your neighbor and your work place too so try to be proactive on this.
