Draper locked up for six hours for not giving special treatment to CA member

A draper running a Kurtha Shop in Bagbazaar was locked up in police
custody for six hours for not giving special treatment to a Constituent
Assembly (CA) member who went to his shop as a customer on Sunday,
Nagarik daily reported.

Quoting eye-witnesses the report says, Nepali Congress (NC) CA member Kalyani Rijal had gone to Shree Pashupati Kurtha Shop, Bagbazaar around 12 noon Sunday. She asked if there was a red Kurtha. The shop owner, Shambhu Shrivastav, who was busy with other customers, replied there was none without looking at the CA member. The CA member got angry with the draper's treatment and yelled, "don't you know how to treat a customer?" She got further infuriated as the draper still did not respond to her. "Do you know me? I am CA member." Rijal shouted. The draper replied, "So what, if you are a CA member?" Then, Rijal called the police and reported that she was assaulted. Soon, police arrived in a van and took the draper to the police station. He was locked up at the custody of Metropolitan Police Sector, Singha Durbar for six hours and released at 6 pm, after Shambhu's brother Satish apologized before the CA member. "We detained Shambhu as it was reported that the CA member was assaulted," said Inspector Bir Bahadur Budha. "We have released him as the CA member told us to do so." nepalnews.com |

what she did was real bad, abuse of power and authority by these leaders are way out of control. Its sad how things are turning out in our country. Saying this I want out point out a couple of things. Recently when I went to Nepal, I found in many occasions the worst customer experience ever. I didnt expect any royal treatment but I encountered many rude people in shops, taxi, police, restaurants etc. I mean there is no respect for customers and they are very rude in their answers. may be some of you encountered such people too. Again these political leaders are way out of control with their self entitlement. but I did come across some very rude people in service trade in Nepal. thats all

wits end, may be you should ask your chinese pal if your brain is functioning properly ?. May be your chinese friend will help you read what I actually meant. Poor face? If your Nepali brain works then read what I wrote, Its is absolutely wrong to abuse power but there are those who lack any respect for anyone. No one demands respect but dont disrespect anyone too. Chinese friend tells you everything or you can judge for yourself??????

he he he...I probably will ask my chinese friend for some help. But people with 'poor face' are normally disrespected more than people with 'not so poor face' especially at restuarants, shops, and taxis. :)

You hit the bull's eye. I am dumb and what is more, I have a what my chinese friend would call a 'dumb face' and I get treated like one. Here is what I gather...you came to the US, got your degree, a good job and made some real money. You went back home to Nepal and the things didn't change - you still get disrespected at Restuarants, shops and at taxi stands. You wonder why this crappy customer service...but it all rolls back to - you guessed it 'poor face'! But I could very well be wrong, after all I m dumb. :)

Bullseye! wits end,SO, In your little dumb world, bad manners is a good thing. Ya I learnt what it means to be nice and respectful. In Nepal there were many places where customer care and service out classed even America. It was great, I enjoyed every bit of it and returned kindness every where I could. BUT people like you who judge others by their poor looks is a dumba(ss in my books.
