I am a database support services technician and work for a small company. I mainly work with SSRS and deploy reports in CRM. I am the only database guy in a company so have to manage our database (2005 sql server as well). following is the brief summary of what i do
-set up backup plan and tested in virtual box(developement)
- created reports in SSRS and used it for data integrity. have users check it on regular basis to correct errors from CRM.
- exported data in
development box(I created test environment in virtual pc) for testing purposes
-
used windows scheduler
to schedule tasks such as : check/delete old backups using vb scripts -database tuning: reindex schedule/fill factor/ index
creation.
-looked at database execution plan to fine tune/create index
-ODBC to visio to look at/analyze ERDs of database
- instead of users doing individual updates from CRM, they would give me a list and I would run a query to do mass updates from database which would reflect in CRM.
- insure database integrity using reports. for example, if certain dates are missing display them from reports.
-restore database from backup
-automate tasks: procedures using sql server agent (we invoice medical reviews my automatic procedures marks the invoice dates, status of medical records etc)
- used SSRS to control access to reports using active
directory.
Please help me to come up with job description for H1 b filing. I would really appreciate the help.
I am using flcdatacenter for my comparision.
