Good point about marijuana.
Pharmaceutical companies lose a lot of money if marijuana is legalized and many of these pharmaceutical companies are the major source of fundings for government elections. Clearly there is a conflict of interest on part of the government to do what is right for the citizens of US versus doing what is beneficial for the political parties.
