Actor and comedian Russell Brand isn’t the first person you would think of to be religious. He is known for his wild humor and marriage to superstar Katy Perry, but he is also very spiritual. In fact, their wedding was a traditional Hindu ceremony in India. Brand invokes Hare Krishna as a daily part of his life, has a Hindu mentor, and attends temple sporadically. His spirituality was a large part of him overcoming his drug addiction.

Ricky Williams has had an interesting career in football. Big highlights, horrible lows, an early retirement, and a period of being a recluse. Williams found solace in his Hindu practice, finding a spirituality that brought him out of retirement and back to football. He teaches yoga, maintains a vegetarian lifestyle, and uses a Hindu-based healing method to recover from injuries. Reports indicate that he is a changed man, and he credits that to his spirituality.

M.I.A., born Mathangi Arulpragasam, attended Hindu and Catholic convent schools when she was growing up in Sri Lanka. She claimed that her infamous Super Bowl middle finger was a tribute to the Hindu Goddess Matangi, whose symbol is the middle finger.
