Today's Chatpat: September 14th, 2023

1. The government has registered the Education Bill in the Parliament. As usual, our business-minded school owners have won the game. The bill had earlier focused on turning all private schools into a trust but the school owners must have paid quite a hefty chiya kharcha to our lawmakers to amend the bill before registering at the house for further approval. But if the bill is passed then new schools will have to be operated by a trust while the ones will continue to fleece parents, pay little taxes and continue to ruin the education system in the country.

2. In Nepal, we seem to see lot of violence against medical professionals. A recent case in Hetauda once again highlights the fact that doctors and nurses are soft and easy target for those who need to vent their frustration whenever their patients' pass away due to medical reasons or maybe in some cases, malpractice as well. It's also sad to note that even when malpractice does occur, the CDO and police show little sympathy to the victims and such cases seem to be covered up with little compensation but no action against the hospitals or its staff.

3. Taiwan is not happy with Elon Musk. It's a pretty tight rope for American businesses because most of them get cheap labor and stuff from the Chinese market. But Musk has his ways of offending half the world and the new biography will indeed shed some light on his erratic behavior and his desire to have a football team ready with at least 11 kids so that they can save humanity or be the first ones in Mars.

4. Kim and Putin are having a blast in Russia. Kim likes to travel heavy in a heavily armored train that takes days to reach anywhere but is stocked with expensive wines, talented singing women and food fit for Kings. After all, Kim is the King of North Korea. And Putin is hell bent on making sure that he turns into a Czar someday. Well, he already is one!

5. The NADA Auto Show 2023 is in full swing in Bhritkutimandap. If no one bought any four-wheelers for a year then, our businessmen will be crying and so would the government because they make quite a lot of money with more than 280% taxes on vehicles in our country while doling out peanuts for infrastructure and better roads.
