Hello all,

Here's something in the Guild I wrote (thought would be too long to put in on a thread):

Maybe people will want to post their comments.

Thanks!

Hey echoes, I feel real bad when these Nepalese work in United States at Royal Nepalese Embassy and itýs no different than visiting a regular Office in Nepal. They represent Nepalese but not the one in United States, the ones back in Nepal. They lack dedication, in true words, THEY DO NOT DESERVE TO SERVE NEPALIS. THEY lack skills, they need their balls kicked or if they see someone they know, their work is done is less than an hour.

This happened to me once too.
It was Hot summer in June, I made my way to Connecticut ave. from Virginia, taking a DC metro. I walked up the hill towards Leroy place. Enter the embassy, it was around 1.30. I looked and it was around lunch time. So no one was there except this girl. She told me that everyone is in lunch and what did I need? I told her I need to make a passport so I can go to Nepal, the following month! She looked at my papers and told me that everyone is at lunch and said, "Ghar janus, aba yaha koi chaina, sab jana lunch ma ga chan. Ghar gayera, je je lyaunu bho, sab aba yo embassy ko address ma mail garnus." I looked at her in surprise. Why would I walk all the way to this place sweating my ass off when its 90 degrees outside just to go back and mail the same shit I have on my hand? I asked her when the people will return, she claimed she didn't know. The lunch hour ends around 2 and I said ill wait, coz I need this passport. She said, ok, do you have everything? I said yes. I filled out forms and papers to apply for new passport. I waited outside, no place to sit, just leaned back against the wall staring at doors in front of me and at side staring at stairs hoping that anyone would come and help me. Clock hit 2.30, and no one's in sight, I can hear people talking upstairs but I didn't go upstairs. I didn't get my passport that time. I just walked back to the metro station and went home.

hmm.. a good narration on the working of our Embassy in DC. But not all of our embassies are like that. For example, the Royal Nepali Embassy in Beijing is very different- exactly opposite of our Embassy in DC. Its the most friendliest and most well-kept of our embassies abroad. Not only you are asked tea or coffee, you also get your work done in no time. It took less than 10 mins to get my new 10 barse passport! -satte! It would have taken less than that if I had filled my forms beforehand and had the exact money on me.

Plus there is the usual Nepali hopsitality and guff-suff. The building is quite and a Chinese PLA guard makes sure that "only Nepalis" and "only those with business
" enter the compound. A huge far-far Chadra- Surya greets you once you are inside the compond. Then there's a little Buddha shrine, and a nice garden.

You enter the administrative building and the first thing you notice is its clean and in a very good condition. Another thing that you notice is, every staff desk, from the first secretary to the accountant saab has a computer. If our Ambassador saab is down, then the chances are you will be going to his office upstairs for some more guff suff. The staff members are quite nice and friendly. If you are an Embassy regular, you can drop by His Excellency's office to say hi, without any appointment or anything.

Echoes! you echoed the experience that most Nepalese in the US of Whateva had experienced hola!...eheheh, it is an absolutely enjoyable account of your DC trip!
Lets hope, the next time anyone has to go there, they will not have to bear any inconvenience.:)

Isolated Freak, henduo henduo xiexie ni for the reassurance. :)

Anyone care to share other Nepalese Embassy experiences?
