Simple question to ALL----------

--What HAPPENED between 1991 and 2005 in Nepal in terms of political situation?

--Why did it happen?

--Who is to be blamed?

--What should be done?

Also this is what one of my friend told me when I asked him about his business after the takeover...He said that--"I m happy..there is no more strikes, and it is good for us..It is not affecting our business, and other people also. All these people protesting -either don't have anything to do or even do not know what exactly is the cause..and just jump in such stuff."

How would you argue with that?

Yes I agree that the corruption led to the Maoist involvement. There is no denying on that. But how did the corruption start, and who were the ones involved in corruption? And what are the other countries such as US, UK, India thinking...They are smart enough to know that the system was not working for last 15 years. But then why are they against the move? Is it because they are big democratic power and would like other countries to follow the same path???

BTW its a good idea to protest so that people will be aware of Nepal (those who have never heard fo Nepal), and then do nothing about it. Before protesting please think clearly and try to answer those questions.

Anyways, its should be a different feelings when you protest in Nepal and abroad. I m wondering the same people who will/are protesting in US will protest in Nepal as well.

Sorry I had to start a new thread on this. I couldn't help without expressing my views on recent stuff that is happening...

Besides the points/questions I mentioned above I still have some more ....

I again say-- do we all understand the real fact/truth? If not then how can we go about it?

--The next point might be lil out of the point,,but let me tell you one thing--how many Nepalese associations are there in US? Many- right??
Whats the purpose of those association--well one argue on this forever..but it seems like most of the association or so called association have emerged out from TRI-STATE area (DC,Virginia, Maryland). BTW all these associations have so many positions.

I have come across many of those leaders of those associations, and they seem so proud of themselves. I have noticed a sense of ego. I believe in people who really does the work and not just for the popularity. I salute those people.

Many (associations) have failed to sustain in a path they had initated and have become stagnant but few have excelled....Yes team work is very essential in such environment, but am I wrong to say that in this country also we are fighting for name --in other words..in all these associations--have you noticed anyone who seems kind of "cocky" and arrogant. Its not bad when someone comes forward and leads but should not lead just for the sake of popularity (self).

There is still some ego in all of us.

I might be rambling--but may be someone out there might wanna oppose my views.

Oh one last thing---have you come across people who kind of get insulted when you do not address him/her by her/his title such as Doctor....If the person has PHD and if you fail to mention the title in some newsletters or anything---

Well I have seen people mentioning about their masters degree on their business cards...SO i guess its normal right?
